Yeah, bit silly. But they have been redoing lines around here recently and they just blast through streets going over what was there before rather than triple check each one.
Surely the bigger farce is why is it 9 years since the council closed the school and nothing has been done with the land?
Such thing happens all over the world.
The version I heard was that in a certain place in Japan, a local railway that had been closed and demolished many years ago but the contractor who was still putting up new level crossing signs to warn people the level crossings that did not actually exist.
Until an amendment to the traffic order that put that school zone no parking area there in the first place is made that zone still applies so the lines still need to be repainted. It’s not like the roadworkers just decided to do it off their own bat.
