    1. Good, fuck this guy. Giving Trump a gold bar was the final straw for me. Still salty about aperture too.

He was always the supply chain guy, not one with vision. While apple has continued to make money since jobs thru sheer momentum of their popularity, you can tell they are a bit all over the place and product lines are largely stagnant with little real innovation.

If I were him, this feels like the right time to jump ship.

They’re just going to put someone worse in guys. Steve was confident in Tim.

People shitting on Cook have absolutely no appreciation of the level of scale he brought Apple to. Yes there was no crazy product line innovation like a new iPhone but the interconnection of the existing ecosystem and then the absolute scale of delivery is astounding.

The company is now absolutely dominant in consumer tech hardware and services and generates 100s of billions in profit each year. If you think there is no talent behind that you don’t know what it takes to run a business.

    5. Bent the knee to trump and then released the innovative iphone shoulder tube sock. Truly a capitalist of our times.

    6. I’m sure that Apple’s survival and success has much to do with him, but he is certainly not a visionary.

I wouldn’t expect any actual visionary leader to ever helm Apple again, now that it is a huge and far-reaching company.

Still, I really do hope that the people that will come after will understand that design and quality are hallmarks that set Apple apart and require constant effort and innovation to maintain your position.

My main gripe against Microsoft in the 90s and 2000s was that they absolutely caused incredible stagnation in the home computing realm, and now Apple is sort of doing similar things.

This is giving me Andy Jassy vibes where no matter how good the next CEO is, they’ll never live up to the legacy of the previous legendary CEO so the company valuation deflates as investors have an excuse to pull money out

    8. He will celebrate the 50 years of Apple and then resigns to enter into a new era

    9. If Trump goes down remember he defended him. All these corporations did. Treason honestly. Garnish their worth and return it to the people through stimulus checks. Our money has been funneled for decades. No more. This is their last grift before they reveal we’re in 20% inflation and fucked beyond repair.

    10. I cant imaging continuing to work even if I had 10 million dollars. Something is wrong with these people where they draw their self worth from their job.

    11. New CEO is going to come in and start outsourcing. I’ve seen this play before.

thank god lets hope apple can be innovative again like it was pre mid-late tim cook era

Whats with all the CEOs stepping down all of a sudden? Whats gonna happen in 2026? Are they all headed to New Zealand?

Imagine if Elmo decided to throw his hat into the ring and actually came on board. Ouch.

Anyway, I fear that the apple will have finally fallen too far from the tree with the next hire. I do not believe you can bring back the original ideas and vision of Apple when it comes to the consumer experience. Apple has grown way too big now, and way too beholden to the shareholders. This is what truly kills innovation. It’s all about growth, growth and more growth. This is why they have a $230 (USD) sock for a phone. A SOCK FOR A PHONE FOR $230! Apple is just a stock(ing) now.

    15. He’s responsible for Apple’s transition away from product innovation and into a financial company. And his simping for Trump has just made the idea of that whole company kinda fucking gross/turned their brand borderline septic.

      Good riddance

In case someone from Apple is reading this, yes, I *am* available. Let’s talk!

He’s squeezed as much profit as possible from Apple without actually building anything of value for the customer. That worked for awhile, but with antitrust laws coming down the pipe everywhere but the U.S., they need new products to keep growing. And cook sucks at that.

I can neither confirm, nor deny, the rumours that I will be taking over as Apple CEO.

It’s got to be a nightmare getting a visionary new CEO when all your candidates can talk about is AI.

    20. Odd_Communication545 on

He missed the AI trend, left Siri to rot, IOS has become a mess, the design is just grim and inconsistent these days, no proper innovative products in years, complete stagnation

I know Steve jobs said not to think what he would do, (it was one of things he told Tim before he died) but it’s hard not too. I don’t think he’d be very happy with apple signing up to prism shortly after his death, being run by the marketing department, keeping the same phone designs for years, releasing so many product lines that it’s becoming the 90s again. It’s hard to differentiate between iPhones, pricing reach unaffordable at a time when apple is offering less than the competitors.

Tim really needs to go, he was great at keeping the ship moving forward but he’s been absolutely atrocious in keeping apple at the top.

Profit has become the focus, not making great products for customers

Totally honest good faith question: does this matter to anyone?

From what I know of he’s done nothing but ride the rails through a few more iterations of what they already had.
