The detainees‘ attorney said this about the student Republican:

      >***“He claims they’re taking jobs from Americans, which one would wonder based on his own viewpoint, is he taking a college seat away from an American since he’s from London?“***

    2. Sounds like when the Nazis called the SS on businesses who may have employed Jews. And they wonder why they get called Nazis.

      >Zac Segal wrote on X that he had been “calling ICE for months on end” about the car wash in his neighborhood, and claimed that “this week they finally responded to my request to detain these criminals.”

Zac, if they didn’t arrest the car wash *owner* on this, you did nothing of substance here, you bitch coward.

    4. bensquirrel on

Not just any old student republican. Their president, a citizen of the UK.

    5. sugarlessdeathbear on

Hatred makes people crazy. People calling ICE aren’t lining up to work at a car wash, something they likely think is beneath them, so from that frame of reference shouldn’t they be happy that someone they think they are better than is doing work they think beneath them?

    6. Good luck with your neighbors in Allston now that you’ve outed yourself as a dipshit. It is a working class/student area and people of Boston are not fucking subtle with their opinions.

It’s one of the few things I miss about Boston.

    7. Maybe someday someone will call the police on his encampment and throw his ass off the sidewalk at 3 am.

He’s from the UK and president of the local College Republicans here??

Insert “She doesn’t even go here!” clip from Mean Girls lmao

They are vile and hateful people and I’m tired of pretending they are not. They keep hiding behind the guise of saying that it is to “protect” the  nation from illegals when they know deep down (okay not that deep, surface level) that they just want a predominantly White nation with a very small number of non-White people they can exploit.

      >He was born in London and received his schooling in the United Kingdom, according to the BU athletics website.

It would be real shame if a bunch of people told ICE that he had overstayed his visa or that his documentation allowing him to live and work and attend school here are fraudulent. It would especially be a shame if they raided his residence and forcefully took him into detention so they could verify his residency status.

    11. He’s only facing backlash because racism. Apparently all 9 are legal workers. So I’ll go out on a limb and say his backlash is deserved. Try not being racist. You’re not a victim of the internet. You deserve all the hate you get.

Has anyone checked if this Republican from the UK has been trying to actually vote as a Republican here in the US?

      > Segal is listed on the Boston University athletics website as a member of the men’s cross-country and track teams. He was born in London and received his schooling in the United Kingdom, according to the BU athletics website.

      > „He claims they’re taking jobs from Americans, which one would wonder based on his own viewpoint, is he taking a college seat away from an American since he’s from London?“

      The fucking irony.

Gosh darn the consequences of my actions are biting me in the rear, who would have thought

I hope all the legally working people scooped up by ICE sue this guy. This has to be close enough to SWATing that they can figure out something to make it stick. Throw the book at this guy for false reporting, maybe it discourages others.

“Segal is listed on the Boston University athletics website as a member of the men’s cross-country and track teams. He was born in London and received his schooling in the United Kingdom, according to the BU athletics website.”

Wait what? This dude isn’t even American and is calling ICE on workers who have legal permits to work here?

    18. SignificantWhile6685 on

Fucker should be sued into oblivion for terrorizing working people.

    19. ScrewAttackThis on

I clicked on his Twitter post and of course there are replies questioning his Jewish name 😂.

    20. The absolute icing on the cake is that this fuckstick isn’t a citizen, was not born here and has absolutely no say in who “should and shouldn’t” be in the US. Kick this fuckstick back to where he came from. Apply his own logic onto him.

Segal as President of the BU College Republicans, they put out this statement 2 months ago:

[ BU College Republicans: “conservative students have long been marginalized” News](https://www.reddit.com/r/BostonU/comments/1ne8qnq/bu_college_republicans_conservative_students_have/#lightbox)

My guess is that Zac Segal didn’t like the service at the car wash or he said something bigoted towards the employees and they didn’t take it too well. Why else would he keep calling ICE for months about the same location? He’s acting like a Ken or a Kevin or whatever is the equivalent of a male Karen.

America will not forget buddy, there will be a list with your name on it once the dust has settled

From Letsrun.com: [BU track athlete says he’s the one that called in ICE raid on Allston car wash](https://www.letsrun.com/forum/flat_read.php?thread=13882906)

      >A purported teammate wrote:
„I’m a member of the track and field team at BU. The vast majority of us are appalled with his actions as of late. Coaches haven’t stated anything to us yet but many of us are reaching out to them expressing concern.“
„Many of us have publicly responded to him on Twitter, he was already looked down upon for a lot of other gross actions he’s done but I can’t imagine anyone else will even want to talk to him after this.“
„We have a very large international athlete percentage for sure, including himself. His actions go against everything we stand for as a team, so I’m not sure why he’s so comfortable acting this way, especially boasting about it online.“

      I wonder about his „other gross actions“…🤔

The Trump regime has revealed that there are some sad sack vindictive mother fuckers we are living with in this country. Not the majority of people of course, but enough to make living in this society a little worse.

    26. Someone needs to send this fucking skid stain back to England. We have too many haters already in the US.

Little punk-ass deserves the social stigma he’s getting, and I hope his community doesn’t let up. Disgraceful little monarchist weasel

Good start, shame the assholes who just callously harass others like these MAGAt Republicans have been.

Poor Zac just put a target on his own back. Hopefully he gets deported back to Europe before someone does something rash at his next publically held track meet. Oh well.

      > Todd Pomerleau, who represents all nine detainees, told Newsweek on November 14 that each of the five women and four men detained holds a valid legal status and a work permit

All the workers had valid legal status but were still being detained. With Epstein front and center in the news, I hope it opens our eyes to start talking about ICE operations within the framework of human trafficking. They have disappeared thousands to Broadview processing facility, over 300 without warrants, and held/are holding a number of US citizens and legal residents as well.

    36. Dear_Pen_7647 on

People aren’t focusing enough on how deeply disturbed the Republican youth are. I was in that world back in 2016 when Trump first won. I’m glad to have clawed my way out of it, and I can’t imagine how bad it has gotten now. The estimation is that 30-40% of GenZ Republican staffers in Washington are groypers. Add this to the multiple revelations about nazis leading the Young Republican group in multiple states. People need to acknowledge this now because while Trump may be an idiot who believes in nothing, Vance is born of this movement and is very in tune with it. We will have to root this out soon or watch our immigrant, minority, and gay neighbors suffer the consequences of our inaction.

    37. AThousandBloodhounds on

Come-on Newsweek, quit pussy-footing around and call these College Republicans by their true and accurate name… College Nazis aka Hitler Youth.
