Common sense won
A Cheesemaker from the Canton of Bern wins the best cheese in the world award… and the competition took place in Bern.
Ok.

Gruyere is simply the fucking GOAT. Doesn’t even matter, young, ripe, „hard“, melted, … fuck, even those melty toast slices!
And it’s so easy to combine with a milder cheese or creamier cheese, if pure Gruyere is a bit too much or you want a more complex flavor profile, too!
Easily one of the best tasting and most versatile cheeses out there.
I do love a good Gruyère well matured…but… really? best cheese?!
