      Notice the four rivers in the east starting with D and N. The names have the same ancient origins. I believe it’s Scythian or Proto-Indo-European.

      The River Tiber in Italy has such a small drainage basin area when you consider one of the largest empires in ancient history was founded there

      As a geography nerd in 6th grade, my favorite name for a body of water was the Bug River which runs through Poland, Ukraine, and Belarus.

      I later learned that **Bug** is pronounced the same way as the Polish word for God – **Bóg** (nominative singular).
