Pretty crazy how un-gerrymandered this map is. I can see county lines in Ohio!!!!!
Them union counties in TN are like the Japanese soldier fighting 29 years after WW2 ended meme.
Crazy how that one red district in Kentucky apparently voted for a non Republican in 1932. That part of the state has been solidly Republican for the entire history of the party (so I thought anyway).
Trivia: the guy who won the one red district in Indiana would eventually become the House minority leader- Charles Halleck . Also the guy who won the bright red district in Illinois would end up as the longest serving Republican whip in history (Leslie Arends)
All mapporn maps lately don’t have legends or have logical issues
What happened in East Harlem?
Yes when East Harlem elected an actual Marxist to Congress who was endorsed by the Republican Party!
(In NYC the GOP in the first half of the 20th century was a broad coalition of various ideologies united only by a hatred of Tammany Democrats).
I love that my state (MN) has dipped into third parties multiple times.
Fact for anyone who didn’t know: The Minnesota branch of the Democratic Party is referred to as the DFL, short for the Democratic Farmer Labor Party because it was created by a merger of the two parties in 1944.
What is OK-AL?
It’s weirdly annoying to think about how people in 1934 were somewhat* more democratic than we are and all they had to do was not immediately eave away third parties as incapable of ever gaining power
*Obviously there were a lot of problems on that time and many of them are still here so don’t point out how black people couldn’t vote in a lpt of areas like that’s what I meant
Arkansas had 7 seats?
Who’s the one Republican in East Harlem?
What’s going on with North Dakota? And the dots in the Great Lakes and by Rhode Island?
“11/15: In 1934, Dems gained 322 seats by choosing people over elites. In ‘26, neoliberals will lose because they offer branding, not policy. Real economic relief can flip the House the same way the New Deal did.” – Hart ‘28 Dem Pursuing.com 🇺🇸💙
Is North Dakota the Non-Partisan League?
Oh man you literally just copied the map from Wikipedia 🙁
