I’m a pretty big cod fan but I just simply don’t care anymore. The game is the same every year and the micro transactions are so exhausting
Turning it into a one trick pony, eventually gets tiring.

Also gamepass ultimate subs. I mean why would I pay for it when it comes free with the xbox on my pc?
But also its played out for me and I dont care to even install it and fill up an entire 2tb hard drive just for a cod game

It’s not Arc Raiders or Battlefield 6. It’s paying $70 for Black Ops 6.5 and losing access to all your previous purchases. Playing the same game on the same maps with the same weapons. It’s literally the definition of insanity
People finally don’t want to pay a self-imposed subscription to play the same game every year.
Bruh…. We can’t pause the campaign while playing Single-Player, why bother playing at all?
I have gamepass and have no desire to even try it out for no additional cost. BF6 fills that niche for me for now.

There was cod fatigue before mw 2019 renewed interest, we’re back to that era right now. Cod is a great series, I usually look forward to grinding a pristege when the new one drops, but there’s so many good games these last 2 months, adding a very mid looking cod to the fray wasn’t a good play.
Arc Raiders, Battlefield VI, I wouldn’t recommend it, but Escape from Tarkov is on Steam too.

CoD has sucked for a long time
Game is garbage. The same recycled game every year while not improving servers, bugs, guns, cheating, etc. I experience little to no cheating on BF6, same with Arc Raiders. They were lucky they had no solid competition, now that they do, people are playing other games.
I stopped playing COD multiplayer for years, came back for WZ, this time they decided to delay major WZ updates until Spring of 2026. Somehow a company with so many resources has been unable to address cheating and broken inputs for YEARS. Now that Battlefield and Arc Raiders figured it out COD somehow thinks they’ll get people to flock back by doing what we’ve been asking for, for YEARS. Little to late, fuck the suits who run this title.
maybe. another factor to consider is marketing, or lack thereof. i always play the yearly COD game and am pretty plugged in to games in general and i didn’t even know it was launching today. that, plus the lackluster critical response (so far) could be some of the reason.
it’s weird, microsoft made such a big deal of buying call of duty only to seem to not really care about it much after all.

Huh… New CoD dropped? I knew it was coming soonish but I haven’t really been keeping up with it. 4/5 years ago I would have been gagging for it.
I’m glad I never got into that series. I just let all the other ones screw me over as time goes on lol.

I was actually going to buy it. Love black ops and I think most fans want small iterations from the last, assuming it’s good. But they decided to announce carry over, the cancel it, I had to vote with my wallet, even though I know it’s not going to make a real difference, gotta stick to my principles.
Steam only makes up about 10% of COD’s player base. Maybe even less. On consoles it’s always the number 1 most popular and most played game
Charlie intel showed a screenshot from October that had cod firmly as the most popular game on PlayStation and Xbox. And that was the month BF6 released. Before the new call of duty game even came out
Literally every call of duty game sells over 20 million copies. Extremely impressive for a yearly title

It’s honestly crazy any FPS can charge money these days. Like there are so many extremely good shooters that are entirely free.

My son and I grabbed it as we’ve done a COD midnight release party for many years. Both of us feel like this is the last time we do it.
BF6 is fun but as with many battlefield games will get better with pre time. ARC is also fun as it’s chill but also not at times (my favorite of the three).
BO7 is fun but there’s something that just feels different this year. Feels a lot like Vangard release which is one of my least favorite games in the last ten years. I only
Played Vanguard for about three weeks the completely abandoned it. Don’t think I’ll be playing BO7 after a few months TBH. If it even lasts that long.

I only played up to bo3 and then stopped till bo6 came out and Bo7 feels slightly better. but still half baked.
Did they tease 15 year old maps yet? Maybe after a month and no one liking the new ones, then they can charge 20 dollars for maps that came out years ago.
