Russia has been preparing for this since the Cold War.
No nation has their refineries operating at 100%, otherwise maintenance costs would be higher than normal. This is only a temporary solution since delaying maintenance will wear those formerly idle distillation units out faster.
If they could realiably hit and destroy the fractionator columns it would look differently. They’re a bitch to replace.
Journalist’s struggling with industrial processes is not exactly news.
Heavy price being paid with a major loss of Ukraine’s own energy infrastructure.
