Sunniest place in Northern Ireland is basically in the middle of a lake

It is interesting how Tiree is sunny and Coll isn’t.

I live in a more rain area. Could be anywhere in Scotland though

So near Plymouth is really rainy but really sunny

In Wales it rains so often that we have a special term for it.
We say „Mae hi’n bwrw glaw“, which means „It’s raining“,‘ and I think that’s beautiful.

NYC has twice as much rainfall as London

What’s the sensitivity of this dataset? Some of the smallest specs of defined area look less than 1km². Are there really that many weather stations in the country?

Why is Glasgow so bright blue? What data did you use? 2025 alone? This map is wrong

Kinda explains why there are more big cities on the east coast of Scotland compared to the west coast (Edinburgh, Perth, St Andrews, Aberdeen, Inverness vs just Glasgow and maybe Fort William)

That dividing line in the middle of England is definitely real, in Yorkshire it doesn’t seem to rain too much then as soon as you cross the pennines it feels like there’s just a constant light drizzle.

Wales and the Peak District are really pulling their weight. Taking on the prevailing wind and rain so the east of England can enjoy the sunshine

That is a weird colour scale, no?
kalsoy on
I agree that the colour scale could be improved. ,Light and dark are visually the most powerful hues that draw most attention, and intuitively our brains want those to be the outer ends of the scale of good and bad.
Ideally you want:
*Dark = negative + negative OR positive + positive
*Light = positive + positive OR negative + negative
This map mixes that up:
*Dark = positive + negative
*Light = negative + positive
*Yellow = positive + positive
*Blue = negative + negative
