America is 5x safer than Mexico
US is basically surrounded by countries way safer on one side and way more dangerous on the other. no middle ground. i wonder if this “one number for the whole US” even means anything, or if a handful of states are just blowing the stats up for everyone else

The divided states are pretty responsible for the militancy of the cartels south of the border thanks to the work of the formerly named school of the americas. Look into history and it is incredible how safe Mexico is in spite of the outside influence leaning on them.
Its about culture and the culture of that country. When we glorify thugs, the youth will want to emulate the thugs. Just watch TV and listen to music…they dont have that in such quantities in other countries like Japan.
