Anyone able to explain the obsession against anything green from the right? Like in my mind, if I try to be as neutral as I can be, the most emotionless logical argument surely must be, „Best case it turns out we’re wrong and global warming tranrpires to be nothing. Worst case the planet is fucked and faces catastrophe. So let’s try to fix this in case the worst case turns out to be true, because if it is we’re all seriously fucked.“
Yet the actual resposne from the Right is: „OMFG we must not make any attempt to save the planet. It’s a hoax. Don’t even use the phrase „global warming“ in my presence. Burn burn burn that oil!“
Like I swear I’m a die hard aetheist but if anything makes me think there might be a god and a devil, it’s the political right. Only people so obsessed with the destruction of humanity must follow their belief mindset. Only to be so truly hateful and enjoying the misery of others must they want to push this kind of agenda that is like, „We’re gonna drive this car off the cliff because even though I can see the cliff coming and you’re warning me of it, I don’t care, so long as I can still drive MY car right now.“
I often used to wonder how come humanity never figured out how to stop wars. Now I know why. Because there’ll always be around 40%+ of people on this planet that just rage inside, with selfish hateful vengance flooding their veins their whole lives.
These rules are the most idiotic thing in the world, not because of what they wanted to achieve (because that is noble), but because of their wishful thinking implementation. The wind will not stop blowing from China, India, and now even the US.
Green madness is driving European industry out of business, primarily to the benefit of China, which, unlike us, isn’t driven by crazy ideologies. Too many of you support industrial desertification in the name of green ideology, but there’s nothing green in the desert.
We already see droughts and floods worldwide, but no, let’s keep fucking the planet for a few more bucks 👍

Good that they’re reversing course on this. The green deal has been a disaster for European businesses and our economy. Ultimately, not reduction of emissions by pricing and regulating, but the development of green technology will be the most decisive factor for transitioning to an emission-free economy and that will be a result of a strong economy and economic growth

I’d be happy about this if it would also drive prices down for local consumers, since the product is cheaper to produce, but I’m sure companies will just increase profit margins instead.

This is just about reducing reporting standards for eligible companies. It’s probably a good thing to reduce red tape on euro companies at a time when people are screaming for growth policies.
I hope every single one experiences an extreme weather event and that nobody helps them.

Right now we need economic growth, so let us please put the debate about green rules aside for a while.
At some point, it had to happen. And they will cut green rules even further in the future. With China, India and the US doing their own things, it makes no sense for us to continuously shoot ourselves in the foot because we think we have some moral high ground. The impact of our measures in the world would be minimal without the other 3.
Also, selling the idea of a green world was pretty easy. But making the transition gets more and more expensive the further you move up the ladder. People will turn on it no problem the moment they see their electricity bill grow and inflation rise (so, the last 3 years).
I’ll also die on the hill that the green people killed their own project when they completely abandoned nuclear energy, especially the German greens.
We should all fight for the climate. However, if the EU makes expensive rules without anybody else doing their part, we will just be expensive and less competitive.
