why would it be? Alberta is producing and shipping oil in record amounts, after a decade of record-setting growth (literally the highest in the world) and the Alberta gov’t is collecting record high royalty revenues. Source: Danielle Smith herself.
Northern Gateway is only economically viable at 2014 oil prices, KXL would only further integrate us with the U.S. economy and Energy East offers very little economic benefit after the construction phase. Whatever oil is supposed to do for our economy, it’s already doing it. If Alberta can’t get it’s house in order with record growth, production and royalties, that’s Alberta’s problem, not Canada’s.

Churchill is to far away from production and not big enough .
Transmountian expansion isnt big enough .

Maybe my math is wrong but id place a large bet that a form of energy east is burning a hole threw the table right now .
Thank you. Alberta has no business case and it’s not ready to go. They are getting record royalties off existing pipeline so maybe, just maybe they can fund there own new pipeline.
Inviting ex-husband to spend Christmas with his children not on family project list at this time. The relationship is broken, the proponents have moved on and are deploying their capital on pipelines in the United States.
No proponent is going to step forward and spend tens of millions of dollars on the pre-application phase just to be the test case for environmentalists and other activists litigating the arbitrariness of the determination that their project is in „the national interest“.
Pipelines are one thing, but is it correct that there’s not a single Alberta based project on this list? If not, that’s a pretty big slap in the face to a province that contributes 15% to our GDP. Just fucking spitting right in their eye.
All they want is more, more, more. Danielle your last private pipeline project had to be bailed out by the government. You’ve gotten your answer from the private sector on the next one and it just doesn’t make financial sense.
Diversify your economy or at least tax oil on the way out because, so far, you’ve saved little, cut corporate and commercial taxes, while adopting the orphan wells and shutting down any project that isn’t oil. Throw in claiming native heritage, comparing Covid vaccinators to followers of Hitler, criminal case interference, and a massive health care scandal.
I wouldn’t be listening to her either, get your house in order and stop asking already.
