    1. It mentions a new vacancy tax administered by revenue. I will be interested to see if it actually has teeth or is like the last one where it’s so low it’s pointless.

Plan is better than no plan, but maybe 3rd or 4th plan without hitting targets in prior ones will make people a bit jaded. Sincerely hope there’s stuff in here that will work.

€100million pledged specifically to buy second hand homes to turn into social homes.

If you were hating on the local councils outbidding you for properties, now get ready for millions in state funding to outbid you for those same increasingly limited properties to hand to somebody for free

Absolutely sickening, and does nothing but add upwards pressure in a constrained housing market.

„€100 million to buy second-hand properties“. We are literally funding the government through taxes to outbid first time buyers and house often problematic unmonitored tenancies into residential areas.

I  have seen 2 houses on my street bought as social housing, retrofitted at no expense spared and then used to house individuals who since moving in have had multiple and constant anti social behaviours and a regular police presence at the accommodations. The tenancy officer for our area is completely ignoring these issues.

The government are way out of touch with the public in this. They need to be seen to do something that will help not just those on social welfare, but also the squeezed working and middle class.

    6. I’m reminded of the children’s hospital waiting lists. Harris really is a charlatan. The pantheon of former health ministers have demonstrated unparalleled capacity for bullshit but I’m sure this time is different.

Surely this is some sort of sick practical joke from these muppets in office.

So now not only do I have to bid against Joe public, I have to bid potentially against my own government who are using our tax money to solve the housing crisis that they are responsible for?

Someone tell me Im wrong, this cannot be real. And these heures think this is a good idea?
