It’s not just against international law, it’s also evil. Democratic governments don’t summarily execute people for smuggling drugs – it’s not a crime that carries the death penalty. What’s the difference between this and being shot dead at the roadside because you had a trunk full of drugs? This is state-sanctioned murder.

The overwhelming understanding of „what is law“ from the modern American right is that laws are things that American conservatives like when they are convenient; but just don’t quote them on it a week or two from now because that may be very illegal if they decide they don’t like you quoting it.
