I thought the election was held weeks ago, why did she wait so long? Kidding, kidding, also Republicans are corrupt manipulative cowards.

Fucking finally. Mike Johnson tried to delay this for as long as humanly possible, but it’s finally happening. It’s time to get House Republicans on the record about releasing the Epstein files. How many of them will vote to protect pedophiles?

I don’t expect the Republicans to stop trying to cheat now that this particular attempt at cheating (keeping the House out of session) is over. Every day is another con, and I’m betting we’ll see the next one soon.

>House rules stipulate that the petition will have to “ripen” for ***at least seven legislative days***. After that, a member can provide notice of the intent to discharge the legislation, at which point the Speaker must schedule a vote within two legislative days.
Long way to go

> And even if it passes in the House, it faces an uphill climb to become law, as it would have to pass in the Republican-controlled Senate before making it to President Trump’s desk.
So if Senate Republicans don’t block it, it can still draw a veto.

This is something but also, how far will it actually get? Seems like it’s quite likely nothing will come of this. I did read the article quickly so perhaps I misunderstood so feel free to correct me.

If you read the article, there are many more obstacles to overcome before anything sees the light of day. Chances are something will stop it along the way. Republicans are good at delaying shit.

I had a wrestling coach growing up (5 yo to 16 yo) that was rumored to be a child diddler. He was touchy and misogynistic. But it seemed like a far cry from being a pedophile. I was defensive of him until the details came out. Once the details, which weren’t even conclusive, were out, I had to withdraw my support of a man I had known 2/3 of my life at that point. It was rough as a young man to process.
I didn’t have 25% of the credibility of what’s behind the Epstein scenarios involving Trump when I had to stop supporting my friend/coach. I had to recognize there was a human being with enough credibility that I shouldn’t oppose them telling their story. As an adult, I cannot understand how anyone would look at the details and say, „I don’t think we need to know.“ „We should keep this quiet.“ If the vote isn’t 435 – 0, history is not going to be kind to those where that 0 should be. It’s a vote to hide pedophilia while the smoke indicating a fire is present. If it’s not a real fire, let’s clear the air. If it’s a fire, we are duty bound to extinguish it. If Trump were my father, my position would be 100% the same and I’ve been close to this position once in life.

Dont get your hopes up. All these votes and rules are just traditions and norms in one way or another. The world is inherently chaotic and anything can happen at anytime despite rules and laws saying otherwise. Nothing saying these people wont find a way around justice, it happens all the time.
