Damn valve is knocking it outta the park lately with the hardware, will have to see how the pricing goes for it, but good on the, AND the new steam VR headset too…

Only disappointed by the storage. Base model *might* be able to hold two GTA 6s.

8GB for the GPU is going to be a big limiter unfortunately.

Love this idea, but will be interested to know the price point.

If Thule price is right this will probably be a pre-order for me. I’ve been wanting a new steam deck, it’s perfect for my wife who just wants to be able to sit on the couch and game.

Stronger than the ps5 if so by how much?

As someone that has a steam deck (alongside my main PC) and regularly boots it up to play smaller less demanding games wherever I want, I think a Steam Machine would be great.
Especially with how shit Windows 11 is. Steam OS for less clutter less BS less microsoft less hell on earth.
If they can keep the price point in like, $300-400 range I can see this being amazing.

We need a Companion Cube edition.

Does this mean we will get less compatibility issues for PC to run SteamOS? I am thinking maybe anything that is similar to this box should have minimal issues? Like a 78(9)00X CPU + 78(9)00 (xt) GPU?

It’s a good value proposition. Idk why so many devs won’t work with them to support multiplayer. This could be my league of legends machine that doesn’t have windows. But they just won’t

If this is around 500 notes for it and a controller, and media apps (including background music playback and file management, etc) are supported, I’m in.
Ill sell my PS5 for one of these! Please and Thank you!

I don’t care about it if I can’t buy it on my country like the last ones.

Curious if they’ll release an SKU without the Steam controller. Nothing against the Steam controller, but I already have four Xbox One/Series controllers, four Dualsenses, and two Switch 1 Pro controllers, so it would be nice to save money and just get the cube on its own.
It would also be wicked if it were possible to use the Steam Deck itself as a controller, without having to stream the game to the Deck’s built-in screen. The Deck’s screen could then serve as an always-on Steam Overlay, so you can access Overlay functions (friends list, screenshot management, etc) without having to pause the game on the Steam Machine.

Will need a game compatibility and settings list for me. 8GB of ram is a little worrisome, cost vs features I guess. Console games are built to run on the hardware, PC games are always wild Wild West ahha

Incoming lawsuit: despite name, device produces no steam.
