Meanwhile citizens can’t sue ICE over unlawful detentions. Ridiculous.

    2. Just think, had Flump not been reelected, he’d probably be awaiting trial for his crimes now. Even the Jan 6th insurrections admitted that they were following his orders that day. It was a cut and dry case.

      Instead…

    3. > The language in the bill came directly from Senate Majority Leader John Thune

mr ‚i pinky promise we’ll have a vote on ACA‘. can’t find money for starving, dying americans but sure can find a way to steal even more taxpayer money for frivolous lawsuits.

This is why you jail your criminals instead of letting them run the country…

So Dems reopened the government, and all they got was a safe flight to their next hearing/trial.

Keep your mouth shut and back Trump when Smith questions you, then we will let you sue the government, and hand you your reward no questions asked.

      Quid pro quo.

It’s why they all asked for pardons.

I really feel like Captain Obvious over here.

Trump is doing Trump. Using other people’s money to pay off his debts. Then using the leverage to rope in more suckers for more money.

This time it’s not AlphaBank, it’s the US Treasury.

Democrats just traded arms for hostages, then left the hostages behind.

    8. I’m sure Angus King or John Fetterman will tell us why this was necessary to include but not the ACA subsidies.

I hope that all 8 of those assholes are voted out when each of their elections come up by 2030. I think the earliest is in four years. Remember this shit!

so much for the ‚clean CR‘ Johnson kept talking about… lying sack of shit.

Well the ability to sue means you have to present that the investigation wasn’t warranted and the investors get to present information and evidence to refute your assertion I wonder how that will turn out

For what? In what way were they harmed? I don’t remember them having to see the inside of a court room.

In the span of a week Dems proved to so many people voting doesn’t matter cause even if you vote for them they won’t do anything for you. So you can vote GOP to actively screw yourself or go the long way and vote for Dems who will coordinate behind closed doors to make only some of the most protected seats take the fall.

Sad that for the longest I have begged the non voters in my life to take a stand and I’m now left thinking truly wouldn’t have mattered if they didn’t vote cause nothing different happened with the momentum we gave them.

    13. Wouldn’t it be wonderful if they all showed up and voted no after saying they were going to vote yes?

    14. the f’n republicas get EVERYTHING they want and extra s*** like this. Meanwhile the Democrats are stuck defending a crappy halfass health reform law. we’re really in a bad place.

    15. andy_nony_mouse on

What a great deal! I’m so glad those amazing Democrats led by example!
      Assholes.

Just like how the GOP owns thE shutdown, Democrats own what’s being passed because they caved.

      Seriously, fuck them all.

    17. Trump DOJ probably:

„I think we should settle.. for the MAXIMUM award“

    18. lordpuddingcup on

This, banning weed seeds, i wonder what else they fucking snuck into this bill

Jesus A Fucking Christ. These people are gonna pay for fucking us over. Our own goddamn party leaders. They all need to step down. All of them.

so the dems not only gained anything but they actively gave republicans more than they already had. schumer is the mascot for cuckoldry

      > Most controversially, the provision in the bill retroactively allows senators targeted by Smith to sue the federal government, the NYT reports: “Because the provision is retroactive to 2022, it would appear to make eligible the eight lawmakers whose phone records were subpoenaed by investigators for Mr. Smith as he examined efforts by Donald J. Trump to obstruct the results of the 2020 presidential election.”

Ex Post Facto insanity, the Constitution prohibits this but the ~~GOP~~ American Fascist Party, MAGA and the cabal of Trump traitors, criminals and sycophants don’t give one dried mouse turd of thought for the Constitution … 😖

    22. alabamdiego on

So this, a federal ban on THC, and stricter abortion laws…so far…in exchange for a promise to have a vote on something you know you don’t have the votes for.

      Absolutely brilliant.

    23. We’re going to find out Democrats agreed to permanently seal the Epstein files next

    24. Bigweld_Ind on

Neo-liberal Democrats sold out the party because progressives started taking power. They would rather let Republicans win then let Democrats be financially progressive

    25. Did any of the 8 defectors actually read the legislation before they voted?
