Ladies and Gentlemen, this map is presented by the CCP, who claim they are the true successor to the Qing Dynasty even at their greetest extent.

Ahh the old „I can make maximalist land claims based on greatest historical extent but if any of my neighbors try to do it, I will maximally lose my shit.“

It always cracks me up how Russia stripped more territory from China than any other European power and is the nation that has come the closest to using nuclear weapons against China, yet the West at large is treated as China’s primary global adversary.

I hate how maps like these forget like, so much of the Kazakh Frontier was basically losely controlled tribes, Tibet and much of the Burma frontier were under vassals called Tusi’s
The Qing also only held parts of Taiwan while the rest were uncontrolled tribes, and in Mongolia where it was primarily banner vassals.
The only really core controlled area of direct central authority was the Han and Manchurian core
