I really hope so, but I’m not holding my breath. Them being willing to swear her in means they have figured out their next step.

I don’t see hordes of billionaires fleeing to parts unknown, so, call me skeptical.

    3. Uninspired_Hat on

No they’re not. They still need to swear in the rep from Arizona, and Mike Johnson may just continue to not swear her in.

But pretending for a moment that she is sworn in, they still need to have a discharge petition vote. That’s where everyone votes yes or no on releasing the Epstein files.

And if you think Republicans still have an ounce of shame and dignity left in their souls to vote yes, you’re sorely mistaken. They’re called the Guardians of Pedophilia for a good reason.

But, pretending further for a moment, let’s assume the discharge petition was successful and the GOP is now legally required to release the Epstein files. They can just break the law, refuse to do it, and that’s that. There’s no enforcement mechanism to make it happen.

    4. Ugh the Daily Beast just scrolls past it. It’s like the Daily Wire on the right.

Are they? Because I feel like the Guardians of Pedophiles (GOP) and convicted fraudster felon and rapist Pedosident wanna be King Trump the first realllllllllly don’t want us to read those files.

We have a government of pervert criminals.

Are they? I feel like Nancy mace is practicing her victim face over and over tonight to gear up to pull her support and blame a trans person in the process.

Can we please do something about these Daily Beast articles?? It’s a dozen a day with these „He’s finally gonna get it!“ type articles.

It’s fuckin spam at this point.

    8. No they won’t. Either Johnson will come up with some bullshit to freeze the clock or Republicans will call it a distraction and vote against it. And if you think they’ll be held accountable for either, I have a bridge to sell you.

Good! Burn everyone and anyone who abused the victims to the ground. I’ll be sad if someone I respected is among the abusers, but that’s a no-go for me.

Dems in the House should promise Mike Johnson that if he swears in Grijalva, they won’t pursue the Epstein files. Quid pro quo.

This headline SLAMS. Can’t wait for the DUMP. Get to it already and let these survivors get some closure if that’s even possible.

      It’s about fucking time!

Now actually do it instead of threatening it.

      Files get released:
Won’t be any name/anything overtly damaging. If there is anything, they’ll just deny it, the media will cover it for about a week, and then it’ll be gone. I agree with another commenter here who said their willingness to swear her in is very telling. Plus, Trump doesn’t seem to be bothered by it all which most likely means he knows they fixed it for him already. We’ll get nothing but bullshit distraction/deflection stories from now until they kill affordable healthcare subsidies and then that’s it.

    14. Nope. Get ready for more disappointment. They will always be 1 vote away from release

    15. terminalxposure on

So are we all pretending that the DOJ will just comply with Congress? or that the files have not already been compromised on purpose to sow doubts into it?

    16. KiwDaWabbit2 on

I don’t want to be a negative nelly here, as I feel like I want Trump to pay for his crimes more than most.

There has been a mountain of circumstantial evidence that Trump was involved with Epstein including direct accusations of child rape. In the broader sense (i.e., not necessarily related to Epstein), he has been accused of sexual assault by *twenty-eight* different women. What evidence is going to come out to make the denial go away? All this build-up with two seconds of “it’s fake” and I’m afraid we’re right back where we were.

As I said earlier, I hope I’m wrong.

I think the plan for Republicans to hold on for dear life throughout 2026 and then turn against him some time soon after January 20, 2027.

    17. WurzelGummidge on

The files will never be released. They won’t just take Trump down, they will take Israel and a bunch of Democrats down with him. The CIA and their Zionist backers don’t want that

Heavily redacted and cut after being in the hands of Trumps DOJ and FBI for nearly a year.
