Rare euro company that is better than its rival?? There are sooo many companies. Alot of them are better than amerikan ones. Wtf kinda trash is this
It‘s. It hard being better than US companies. Being more successful globally is the challenge.
Airbus does a lot more than airliners.
Now now, just because they stay in the air in one piece doesn’t necessarily equate to being objectively better! Boeings definitely have more robust airflow to the passenger compartment with the optional door plugs removed!

It’s probably more that Boeing is doing everything wrong than Airbus is doing everything right.
In the story of Airbus vs. Boeing it’s not that Airbus is that much better, it’s more that Boeing started getting way way worse. When Boeing was on top of its game (like Airbus is now) Boeing was more successful.
Boeing contracted a bad case of McDonnell-Douglas leadership.
Could we reconsider European Union competition law ? In the post war period France was driven by powerful state companies which helped innovations. Since the privatizations, it’s a long deterioration.
One notable thing which the article doesn’t mention is that Airbus dominates in an extremely reliability-focused industry. As such, the massive amount of regulation and centralization are a good thing.
In other parts of the aerospace industry like commercial spaceflight, that are much more focused on cutting down costs than never failing, Airbus and its low-risk, high stability philosophy fail.
The idea that Airbus succeeded so we should rationalize other parts of the European industry in a similar fashion is a bad idea.
I wouldn’t call abusive and predatory practices that are legal in the US and illegal in Europe „better“.

There are many European companies that are better than their American rivals, especially in the areas of aviation, cars, fashion and luxury, gastronomy etc. The claims that everything American is the mostest bestest (or, conversely, that everything American is unsophisticated junk) are OK when you are three years old. After that it’s kind of ridiculous.
To many of the posters. It’s not about a “company based in Europe”. It’s about a “pan-European company that has sites in different countries”.
Airbus is working but Ariane isn’t. Commercial jets have been slow moving technology for a long time.
If our companies where worse in general, we wouldn’t be selling more to the US than we are buying. So if anything, it’s the other way around.
If „better“ means only „more profitable while screwing everything and everyone else“, then I don’t think we need more of these „better“ companies in the EU.
