Die Verkäufe des iPhone Air sind so schlecht, dass Apple die Veröffentlichung der nächsten Generation, die zusammen mit dem iPhone 18 Pro erscheinen soll, verzögert

    1. Just make the god damn entire phone the same thickness as the camera, and then fill that extra space with more battery, like holy shit it’s so easy and obvious but nobody is doing it…

Why does every brand seem to think their customers want less and less battery life and bigger and chunkier protrusions on the back of their phones????

It literally feels like a joke

I know at least 2 people who bought an Air and returned it solely for heating issue and a half day battery.

No one asked for a thin phone with not thin camera islands.

People want bigger and longer lasting batteries. If you can make it in a thin phone great, if not, don’t create a product that compromises usability.

Apple has lost it big time recently.

    3. EggersIsland on

Nah, people don’t even want the camera bump. They want it iPhone 14 and earlier where the back of the case was flush

    4. RoofEnvironmental340 on

Just because you can build a super thin phone doesn’t mean people want it…. I just want a better battery that can be more easily replaced

    5. Mkbhd made a good point about the iphone air and Samsung edge phone. His take was that they most likely developed these super slim phones in the process of working out foldables. Apple didn’t have a foldable ready but obviously are working on one but they the air feels like the front facing panel on a fold.

    6. Rumour has gone from dire sales, to next model having two cameras to being cancelled. The air only makes sense as a clam shell foldable.

Then it is actually different but still thin

The two big reasons to buy a new phone in the last 5 years has been camera and battery. This phone compromised on both.

    8. It seems like under Steve Jobs, Apple focused on features that people actually cared about.

It sounds like the dude was super flawed, but in those days Apple was focused on making the user experience simpler, easier, and more elegant.

    9. If we can measure the level of innovation left in Apple by this thinner phone, I think is fully depleted.

It got me into an Apple store for the first time in years, although I put it down about as quickly as I picked it up and walked out. (And I’ve been using iPhones forever now).

I know it’s not popular here, but I love mine. You don’t have to, but I love mine. Battery lasts all day, and it works great for everything I do. Not a mobile gamer, but I do use the phone a lot to check email, calendar, socials, etc. A lot of normal use, nothing heavy.

The only thing I thought I’d miss was the wide angle. I use it seldomly, but when I do I love it. Haven’t run into that issue yet, but I will miss it on those few times a year I want to use it.

Sad to see it not do well, not sure why people are rooting for it to fail. I find that odd. If you don’t like it, or think it’s too expensive, totally get it. But being giddy about it not being popular enough is just strange.

Anyway, I think WAY too much has been negatively said on the battery when the average user will have zero issues. Plenty of YouTube videos out there confirming my own experience.

      – single camera not enough, it’s not for you

      – heavy user, it’s not for you

      – someone who plays a lot of content off the speakers, it’s not for you

      – don’t find value in a slim design, it’s not for you

But honestly I think there’s a good chunk of people who do but a value amount on a new design, slimmer form, and a lightweight phone and don’t need the extra tech spec from the other models. I don’t think those people should be discouraged from buying it just because it’s not for you and/or you value other things more.

    12. I love my iPhone Air. No issues at all. I end the day at 40-50% battery, cameras are fine for my needs, and it’s a beautiful slim phone

People love hating on it and anyone who enjoys it. I upgraded from a 12 Pro Max and couldn’t be happier

    13. MyChickenSucks on

I like my Air. Battery life seems noticeably better, anecdotally, after 26.1. Every time I hand it to someone they comment- it is a nice piece of kit in hand. But it is kinda the Cube 2.0

    14. I saw it first time yesterday at the Apple Store. Whose idea it was to make a phone so thin I don’t have a really thick bulging up with the cameras. Basically defeats the purpose.

    15. KaineNierWeissEmil on

Looks like Apple jumped the gun with the 16e, if the Air was the $600 “budget” IPhone I bet a lot more people would have called it innovative and bought into the idea of it rather than it just being a worse iPhone 17 that cost more.

    16. every-day_throw-away on

People are slowly coming to the realization that the phone experience is not changing. It’s still just a piece of metal and glass that you use your messaging apps on and watch videos on.

    17. Give me the same camera scheme, a silicon-carbon battery to make up for the smaller battery size and it’s a winner. Same with Samsung.

Everyone keeps wanting a bigger battery but……why? If the battery gets you a day and a half of use you’re probably charging nightly anyway. Larger batteries aren’t the answer IMO. Give me a thin and light phone with a silicon-carbon battery and the premium camera system

    18. Department_Silver on

Hey apple, here’s an idea from a huge fanboy.

Maybe stop selling 7 different versions at the same time if you want to put some focus on your new one.

    19. Who exactly was even asking for an even thinner iPhone? How thin does it need to be? The MacBook Air was successful because a laptop is bulky and heavy to carry around, so a thin and lightweight laptop serves an actual purpose. A regular iPhone already fits in basically any pocket and weighs nothing. What is the fucking point of it being even thinner lmao

    20. What I don’t understand is why thinks they NEED a fourth IPhone option. The consumers have been very clear that a base IPhone, the Pro and the Pro Max are more than enough

    21. Similar_Committee_24 on

I mean it’s just smaller shittier iPhone that is even more expensive than the normal one. What did they expect?

    22. chocolatethunderr on

Random but has anyone checked out the Redmagic 11 pro? We’re always settling for Apple (me included) but man it’s so nice giving attention to phone manufacturers that are actually pushing the envelope rather than minor enhancements every year.

Jerry Rig Everythings’s teardown was beautiful.

Who asked for this? There’s no way that more people asked for this than a new mini. I mean I guess they wouldn’t make it if that weren’t the case… but I still find it extremely hard to believe

    24. Elon_is_a_Nazi on

Cuz apple sucks. Theyre years behind the majority of phones and over priced garbage

    25. Ecstatic_Tiger_2534 on

There’s diminishing returns on thinness. Most people would agree phones were generally thin enough before the Air. Then when it when it comes at the expense of battery life and camera, it’s just a net negative.

    26. simsimulation on

They feel super cheap in the store. The aluminum sides just don’t feel that nice.

I do think the air is one half of a folding phone, though. Apple did this with the unibody Mac, prototyped industrial design in the “air” model.

    27. WorkReddit69 on

I would’ve bought one if it had stereo speakers. They went a little too far with the compromises on form over function imo
