Dems leaders are stupid cowards. You can’t ‘preserve norms’ while the other side is busy torching them. Chuck has got to go.

House Democrats at several points along the ideological spectrum are furious at their Senate colleagues for backing a funding bill to reopen the government without securing an extension to the Affordable Care Act tax credits.

Centrist Democratic senators are set to vote with Republicans on a continuing resolution packaged with a three-bill appropriations minibus, but comments from one of the most politically vulnerable House incumbents and a contender for a swing-state Senate seat were among those calling the funding deal unveiled Sunday insufficient.

“I assume all of us that have been fighting to protect our constitutions from soaring healthcare costs will vote against this,” Rep. Greg Landsman (D-Ohio), a leader in the bipartisan Problem Solvers Caucus, said in a text message.

All Americans should turn on the Democrat Senators who are caving.

Those who sided with Republicans literally caved and got nothing in return. Check their bank accounts, bet there’s some suspicious transactions recently.

Now this would be spin as a Democrat shutdown, and ngl they deserve it. You make people suffer for 40 days without nothing in return.

So fucking useless all of them, always knew they would cave.

If one thing dems are amazing at, it is snatching defeat from the jaw of victory.

    7. Does anyone know the defense of this? Why cave now when it was hurting the republican party? (Edit: Booker and Peters flipped to no!!)
(Edit 2: There are 4 votes left, but they’re republicans. It seems they’re holding out because they don’t like the part about rehiring RIF/fired fed workers)

The Dems got 8 to cave for the wealthy donors and the GOP. These same Dems couldn’t get 2 to cave for voting rights or a minimum wage hike? It’s the same story every single time.

    9. Pathetic. Once again, the cowardice shines through. No spine leads to the continuance of this bullshit.

    10. Pretty sure it’s because their rich masters didn’t want their flights being impacted.

We can feed our communities, even when the government doesn’t, but the rich actually rely on the government.

    11. Thing is this can still be blocked in the house if MTG and a few other Reps vote with dems

56-40 in favor of “no” right now. Just need one more vote and there’s no deal!

The best week democrats have had in a long time and they just threw it away

    15. I’ll immediately donate to any fund that will primary senators that vote to cave on this without any changes.

    16. The Republicans made a deal that the dopey Democrats went for. No way Trump allows the Republicans to honor that agreement.

    17. Unfucking believable. Win elections, have the polls, base is motivated, some rich donors get annoyed about flights. Fold.

    18. ApprehensiveNet5469 on

per cspan. enough dems have voted yes to advance funding measure . The democrats caved . It’s over. Unbelievable.

    19. ricosuave79 on

Ah, yes. Democrats caving. Story as old as time.

And now Democrats have lost any and all strength. GOP knows now that no one will stop them and Dems huddle in fetal position wimpering like a little baby. So damn pathetic. Once they started on this path they had to commit and stay committed.

    20. Funny the ones who voted yes are all senators not up for reelection next year. Schumer needs to go.

So what was the point of the last 40 days?

Edit – wait, does this include the abortion ban language they tried to sneak in?

I’m done with the Democratic Party. They touted the „Vote Blue No Matter Who“ bullshit and then did their best to undermine Mamdani. They constantly strong-arm voters with harm reductionist rhetoric and then proceed to betray the voters and reduce no harm. They only care about lobbyist and their money.

At this point, splinter the party. I want AOC, Mamdani, Bernie etc. to start their own working-class party and hopefully the dems go the way of the Wigs. Might as well burn it all down and start rebuilding from the ashes while everything is already in hell. The faux unity is bs, sellout dems couldn’t even hold the line when the republicans were getting destroyed for this shutdown.
