That’s exactly what it is. Dems leaders are stupid cowards. You can’t ‘preserve norms’ while the other side is busy torching them. Old leadership has got to go. We need new leadership.

40 days of suffering and inconvenience for everyone, all for what?

Now this would be paraded as a democratic shutdown and they deserve this shit.

I’m so pissed right now man.

The Democrat Senators who caved sold us all out.

I hope the all lose their next primary.

    4. BillyTenderness on

It’s a positive sign that we’re seeing lots more Dems tearing into the turncoat cowards this time than we did back in March.

The Democratic party needs to be entirely eliminated. They saw the progressive victory on Tuesday and said that they must keep moving further to the right.

And the worst part of all? The Democrats are now responsible for absolutely everything that happened during the shutdown.

“Hey! We really kicked their ass on Tuesday! Let’s wait until Sunday to betray our base!”

Now people get to ignore that Republicans worked hard to avoid feeding the people on SNAP.

      The Democrats need a face-lift.

Newsom is right to call the deal „pathetic“ if it’s a total surrender on essential priorities. The issue isn’t just about avoiding a shutdown, but about addressing the real budgetary and political problems. An agreement that’s just a „band-aid“ to buy time solves nothing and only postpones the crisis.

This is what Democrats do best, cave to Republican pressure. That’s all they’re good for. They have many of the same donors as Republicans, they are paid to cave to their interests.

    10. They’ll get a Senate floor vote for ACA – Big freakin‘ deal. As a lifelong Democratic voter, they have lost in this game of chicken, and they deserve what’s coming to them. Too bad for ACA people – you are sacrificial lambs.

    11. I mean we know what’s going to happen, the republicans will pinky promise there will be a vote next month, and then all vote against it as a party completely with a few “moderate” dem’s probably joining them, just like every time the republicans promise something they always go back on it

Spinless leadership. We need to vote in truly progressive candidates that won’t give in to Republicans who won’t negotiate. So many people will die because they can’t afford health insurance. And it doesn’t even matter that there potentially will be a vote in December. Republicans will not vote for the subsidies. The spinless Democrats caved for nothing.

What the hell was the point of shutting down the government for 40 fucking days if we were going to cave in? If you’re going to fucking give up and stop fighting, might as well have never shut down the gov’t in the first place. Now people are screwed, transportation is screwed for a few weeks and everything is going to be a mess for a while.

    14. Makes no sense to drag it out this long just to give up. Literally the dumbest thing they could’ve done.

    17. Sea-Painting7578 on

I said this a few weeks ago. The GOP is weaponizing empathy. They were never going to negotiate in good faith. There will be no vote on ACA subsidies. They knew at least 10 democrats would cave because they care about people and the GOP does not.

    18. Republicans literally destroying everything and somehow Democrats still shoot themselves in the foot and make their supporters hate them…. can’t make this shit up

    19. smalltownlargefry on

We need a clean sweep of the trash that voted to end it. We got nothing. Absolutely nothing. A promise of a vote and I can’t WAIT to see the republicans deny it. You can’t tell me they aren’t in bed with them.

Primary every single one of them.

    20. promethiusrex on

Thanks Tim Kane are you going pay my fucking higher premiums. You and all the turncoat dems who voted for this should be ashamed . You all suck!

    21. Once again showing why the party has an approval rating in the 20s. Absolutely spineless .

    22. Kind_Manufacturer_97 on

Democrats just squandered the best week we’ve had in a long time for a concept of a plan of a promise of a vote.

    23. Frustrable_Zero on

It’s worse now because the Democrats had a cause, the perfect narrative, and it was a Republican shutdown because the republicans wouldn’t give in to reasonable demands after snubbing them after the first time.

      It was a Republican shutdown.

By giving up, for nothing, and making all the pain for nothing. These traitors snatched defeat from the jaws of victory and politically cut their own throats if this goes through that will become a miraculous blunder and put the blame entirely on their own feet.

    24. RuskiesInTheWarRoom on

It’s amazing how bad democrats are about to play this. They *should* have increased their demands. They had a massively improved power position.

The GOP is to blame for the shutdown. The democrats are to blame for its pointlessness.

    25. GuitarbytheTon on

Just a reminder that neither side actually cares about you. They only care about money.

      _Democrats start gaining momentum._

“Alright folks, time to roll up our sleeves and snatch defeat from the jaws of progress.”

    27. Podwitchers on

Who paid the three traitors? We need to investigate – always follow the money.

    28. Bozihthecalm on

Because he’s correct. Democrats gave up the only leverage they had for absolutely nothing in return. In addition because they caved, this very likely will result in Democrats eating a very large chunk of the blame. They effective gave up the midterms for… literally nothing.
