I actually appreciate this form of investigative journalism. I can’t even begin to think how hard it was to actually get the information to report and then to deal with possible blow back for the US Government on merely reporting the news.

Let’s stop pretending like cartels don’t run drugs by boat into the US, for crying out loud.

    3. The gist:

      >In dozens of interviews in villages on Venezuela’s breathtaking northeastern coast, from which some of the boats departed, residents and relatives told Garcia Cano **the dead men had indeed been running drugs but were not narco-terrorists**, as alleged by the Trump administration, or leaders of a cartel or gang.

    4. A journalist that has done more investigations into the matter than the Trump Regime and its CIA.

I think the larger issue is extrajudicial executions by the US military against _suspected_ criminal elements absent a legitimate and imminent national security threat without authorization from congress, but sure.

Even if they are drug leaders, that’s still not inside American jurisdiction.

Even if they are in American territory and jurisdiction, they still deserve a proper trial in court.

From Trump and cos perspective it’s not about having an actual impact or actually preventing drugs from getting into the US. People are misinformed enough. Just showcase these extreme measures and present them as solving the problem in a way nobody else dared to do, and your base thinks you’re solving the problem.
