Nice to put in perspective the span of the British East India Company, not that they were good folks.

is CE the same as AD? And in such case, why do we need both?
Not sure if the map shows the tiniest ones, but there were some princely states that were vassals to other larger Indian princely states rather than directly to the British. These often only controlled like a village or two and were comparable to a “baron” in Europe.
Konbaung Burma attempted to resist the British but was eventually annexed in 1885.
