Ich denke, wir müssen uns mehr solcher Ideen einfallen lassen, damit die Leute wieder Freude am Gehen haben. Stellen Sie sich vor, entspannt nach Valletta zu fahren und dabei die Aussicht zu genießen.

    1. This is actually a good idea, maybe from Valletta to Gzira or Manoel island instead

    2. More frequent ferry travel would be less invasive to the architecture.

Nevertheless, improving pedestrian and bike lanes is a must.

I love the ferries. Especially the little ones. It makes every journey special and you get to meet some lovely people.

Not a fan of this one, it’s bad enough they bulldozed the bastions to make Triq Gilormu cassar.

    5. Cruise ships need to pass through that channel, they need a lot more clearance but its not impossible as places like Curacao do much the same thing.

    6. It should be a pedestrian and bike tunnel. Would cut the distance down enormously especially if it extends to Cottonera – suddenly you can do a 25/30 minute drive in 5 minutes by bike and less by e-bike creating a massive incentive or demand for bike travel. A bridge is too visually invasive and impossible for the government due to the investment in sailing boat marinas. The bridge would have to be too tall to even be considered

Good idea but it should be an underground tunnel. There is no way you could do that to a UNESCO site.
A pre-fabricated underground tunnel which can connect the 500m gap between tigne and valletta is a great idea and would only cost a few millions

Should be done, perhaps not as invasive but through Manoel Island. Just pedestrian and bike lanes.

And what about the cruise liners? Some of them are as high as the bastions.

    10. I am in favour because this would curb the pollution emitted by the ferrer crafts. The only problem I see is that this affects the employment of the ferry crew members.

Boats should be the way in the ports so as not to disrupt the trade.

Apparently there is the possibility of allowing boats to cross from one side of the port, underneath Valletta, and go right to the other port. Part of the passage itself was dug ages ago by the Knights but was never completed while it was blocked during the war to prevent sabotage.  There was an proposal to reopen the passage a few years ago but the project was never considered as far as I know.
