Some of what makes up the press freedom index isn’t necessarily what the state does, but also the generator situation in the country. For example Germany dropped quite significantly. This is mostly due to the increase in right wing violence, and attacks from Nazis/AfD followers on journalists.
Britain has certainly gotten worse – should be marked as PROBLEMATIC

For France, it’s not true. Press is not freedom. Bosses of all newspapers are friends with Macron. Newspapers say what Macron wants to read. Georgia’s Meloni mocked Macron then all newspapers say she is evil and liar and far right from Mussolini and nazi.

As a German, I didn’t notice anything.
No laws have been changed with respect to press or journalism, all governmental institutions are quite transparent and open.
Even far-right influencers and journalists can come to press conferences and push their conspiracy theories and open racism. It can’t get any free-er than that without handing public opinion and the keys to the government directly to Russia or Neo-Nazis.
