Es scheint nicht fair zu sein, dass die TSA und die Fluglotsen umsonst arbeiten. Wenn ein Drittel von uns einen Steuerstreik ausrufen würde, wäre es wichtig sicherzustellen, dass jeder das Geld erhält, das er für seine Arbeit schuldet.
Es erscheint den Amerikanern nicht fair, Steuern zu zahlen, während das US-Militär sich auf eine unrechtmäßige Invasion in Venezuela vorbereitet.

Depends on which third – top bracket or bottom. Note that the top 10% of income earners paid approximately 72% of all federal individual income taxes in the United States. This would be roughly a individual annual income of $150k to $195k. Unless its the top 30% it wont make much of a difference.
With so many people getting laid off, we’re not paying taxes when we don’t have income.
Tax issue aside, why are people continuing to work for free? Are they not allowed to quit and get a different job?

Usually tax season is when you get „some money back“. The tax they care about is the amount they pull before you get paid; and the tax you pay with goods and services.
Did this not occur to anyone else? Even if you don’t pay your taxes, they’ve already got your money.

Thats cute. My income taxes are deducted from my paycheck. My property taxes are taken out of my payment and put into escrow per the terms of my mortgage contract. I have to pre pay for gas, where a portion of the total is tax. I have to pay the total amount of any good or service I purchase so can’t really skip sales tax. Exactly what tax am I going to refuse to pay?

The finance class is more of the problem than the taxman. They push numbers w no regard for the human on the other end. Shareholders and the board are all they care about.

It would be seen as a sign of sedition abroad (depended on who was leading what at the time) and foreign bond holders could cash out or reduce stake, the govt. would have to slash and borrow, the market would respond poorly, and more bad stuff. If Americans stopped buying useless things, then that would cause more fear, uncertainty, and doubt. Hitting the retailers. As the markets fall and jobs are lost, loan defaults and credit card debt would skyrocket. You are asking about almost 1/3 of the country. People who knew they owed and did not pay by April 15th could be hit with fraud charges. Those owed could wait till Oct 15th I believe. Organizers would go to prison and strong examples would be made. It would not be wise to organize something like that.
Hahaha, tax revenue barely covers the interest payment on the national debt already. They don’t rely on that as operating budget, obviously.
