Trump sagt, er wolle nichts mehr von „Erschwinglichkeit“ hören – Der Präsident hat es aufgegeben, so zu tun, als ob ihm die explodierenden Lebenshaltungskosten am Herzen liegen.

I also would like to stop hearing about Affordibility, but because we solved the problem and not because we continue to ignore it.

He says this to the people who are increasingly unable to afford to live.

Did he ever care about making anything cheaper? So far there is no evidence (by his actions) to suggest that he did.

That soundbite is going to be played over and over and over again for the next year.

I know Trump has never cared to consider how awful some of his quotes sound in the context of a campaign ad, but I promise you every GOP congressional campaign manager just winced hearing the phrase „I don’t want to hear about ‚affordability‘ anymore“.

If you’re unwilling to carry out the duties of the President of the United States of America, then resign. Instead, you act like a kindergartener.

He could pound his chest like a big dumb hero if he made an announcement out of releasing SNAP funds and subsidizing food. It’s not his money, what does he care?

      Instead…

Hahaha…but we gotta agree..this guy fooled people on affordability in the last election and people bought his lies.

    8. Not even a year in folks. That’s how long it takes for these people to lose interest in pretending to care.

He doesn’t want to hear about reality. Also, dude is looking pale and week.

I guess if you have 10,000 times as much as you need for basic survival, inflation isn’t really a concern.

He’s a fucking sociopath. He doesn’t care about anyone other than himself and the only way he knows he should care is when or if someone tells him. If anyone that voted for him thinks I’m wrong just watch the video from the oval office when a man collapsed on the floor and people went to help while he just stood there not helping or doing anything. At one point he even turned his head the other way as if to say hurry up and die, you’re ruining my press conference

    12. He has made hundreds of millions of dollars off the presidency, why does he care? He doesn’t and anyone who thinks this idiot is working for them is an effing moron.

Here’s what I am convinced of at this point. The people in Trump’s ear – Miller, Wiles, Scavino, Blair, Cheung – tell him what he wants to hear, and he believes it. Trump is not lying when he says he’s doing great in the polls. He’s being told that’s true and thinks the media is lying when they present a different narrative. Same thing with the economy. Affordability has been solved as that’s what Trump is being told. And control of the narrative presented to Trump is a high priority as cabinet members are not permitted to counter the narrative.

I see Trump as the needed figure-head as he is the one who could win a vote. Governing is a different thing and his regime controls what he believes, thus directing his focus to their priorities. He’s a manipulable fool. OK. But he honestly thinks he’s right. The problem here is he goes off script and lacks focus, which makes that control a challenge.

Trump isn’t lying. He’s not some mastermind trying to re-frame our understanding. He’s not burying his hand in the sand. He’s being a good boy for his handlers.

“Are you still talking about that Epstein guy?”

“Are you still talking about being able to eat?”

      > It’s truly a travesty that this man who campaigned on affordability, and on remembering the forgotten working class, is now telling those very same people to shut up and be happy while outright lying about the state of affordability in this country. It was already bad, and Trump has unquestionably made it worse. But he’d rather lie and finger-point than admit that and work to fix it.

This is an interesting paragraph to me because it almost makes it seem like the writer of the article believed Trump when he was campaigning on affordability and “remembering the forgotten working class.” At no point in Trump’s entire life—let alone during his time in politics—has he ever been for the working man, nor has he ever given even the slightest shit about the economic conditions of people other than himself and his rich friends.

Anyone who voted for an ultra-rich celebrity businessman because they thought he would be “for the working man” has got to be, quite frankly, a giant fucking idiot.

„Sir, there are two passions which have a powerful influence on the affairs of men. These are ambition and avarice; the love of power, and the love of money. Separately each of these has great force in prompting men to action; but when united in view of the same object, they have in many minds the most violent effects. place before the eyes of such men a post of honour that shall at the same time be a place of profit, and they will move heaven and earth to obtain it.“

„And of what kind are the men that will strive for this profitable pre-eminence, through all the bustle of cabal, the heat of contention, the infinite mutual abuse of parties, tearing to pieces the best of characters? It will not be the wise and moderate, the lovers of peace and good order, the men fittest for the trust. It will be the bold and the violent, the men of strong passions and indefatigable activity in their selfish pursuits. These will thrust themselves into your Government and be your rulers.“

      >“You know, I call the Democrats conmen and women, they make up numbers.

Remember when Trump said his net worth varies on his mood? Yeah, that’s making up numbers.

      >We’re getting close to $2 a gallon gasoline. With Biden it was $4.50, $5. Another thing, inflation. We had the worst inflation in the history of our country.

Fair, though POTUS has little to do with the price of fuel. Though with that inflation it’s less likely people will go drive places to do things. An then he immediately lied about inflation being down.

The Walmart CEO put out that the 2025
Thanksgiving meal was $4 a person compared to $7 for the 2024 meal. But it was just a marketing gimmick. Walmart put 15 items in the meal instead of 29. They split the meal 10 ways instead of 8, so portions were 20% smaller.

When adjusted for these changes, the meal is up 3.9% compared to 2.7% increase in the CPI food at home index for the 12 months ended September 2025. Trump latched onto the lower prices and promoted them. America needs a smart President who knows what’s going on, not one who falls for Walmart’s marketing gimmicks.

How can Trump negotiate with China, Canada and the EU if he doesn’t get what Walmart did with the content and portion sizes of the meal?

Dude campaigns on high costs of everything and how he’ll fix it day one.

Now publicly states he DGAF about costs (as all of us with half a brain were totally aware).

Congrats, MAGA. May your suffering at the hands of your own stupidity continue.

    20. Feral_Nerd_22 on

He doesn’t care about anything, just how he looks.

I can’t think of one time he has said „That wasn’t the right choice“ or „We will fix this“. It’s always deny, deflect, and demonize.

    21. Orange way of handling things:

      * I will solve the problem
      * I solved the problem
      * What do you mean? There is no problem.
      * STOP TALKING ABOUT THE PROBLEM!

      Nobody getting tired of this?

    22. There’s no reason to take this sentence out of context like this when it was stupid even in context. The context wasn’t that he doesn’t want to hear about it because he doesn’t care, it was that he doesn’t want to hear about it because he *already solved it*. That is so stupid that i don’t know why anyone feels the need to not include the obviously ludicrous correct context.

    23. You can gaslight lots of things. The threat or immigration, the amount of crime going on, but economic issues are hard because folks get a daily reality check when they buy anything.

The Biden admin got caught telling people the economy was fine because the macro indicators were trending well, but when that’s not people’s lived experience it creates distance.

Interesting to see the Trump admin do the same thing without understanding why they are getting the same election result.
