      It is a fascinating map in retrospect, it’ll be interesting to see a version of this map when I become an old man (I’m 30 now)

      Ah, Vermont. It went from becoming the most solidly Republican state to the most solidly Democratic state incredibly quickly. I mean, when the state became Biden’s largest victory in 2020 they still hadn’t elected their *second* Democrat to the Senate.

      I *think* you did this correctly, but you need to label it. The „lower 48“ wasn’t solidified until the 1912 election.

      What’s the point of having categories in your legend that aren’t used in the map itself? Incredibly stupid way to make a map.

      Is all this data from the first election or a certain point? Shouldn’t the ideological shift be noted when Republican and Democrat meant different things back then?

      Misleading cause the parties switched roles in 1964. It would make more sense to do two maps. One before 1964 and one after
