Return to work is mainly just so the middle management (who make more money than the people doing the actual work for some reason) can feel important and actually have something to do. If productivity is fine there’s absolutely no reason for those people to have to come in

Not surprised, as from what I’ve heard from staff there was _a lot_ of anger at how it was handled. Including from management at a relatively high level.
Classic case of top-down decision makers being at odds with the rest of their organisation.
