You’ve got to love when a councillor’s solution to everything is another rule nobody can enforce. Maybe start with clearer signage and a bit of common sense before we start issuing penalty points for pedal power.
Mamels guna mamel. We can’t seem to enforce breaking red lights though so not sure where this will lead.
Edit: I wasn’t giving out about cyclists breaking lights (personally doesn’t bother me when done safely) but I see how it read that way.
a sign saying please be mindful of walkers, keep left and reduce your speed. Problem solved

In fairness a speed limit on a public right of way isn’t itself a bad thing.
It’ll never be enforced of course, but that’s kinda a different issue.
Now theres a useless councillor we should all now know not to vote for. Greenway has clear rules on where to walk and where to cycle, follow the rules and you won’t need new ones
Except there is no speedometer on bikes. Clowns. They should add chicane’s or large slow ramps near busy towns to keep it slow.
While it is a problem, I bet most of those complaining don’t think twice about speeding in a car

Bikes don’t have speedometer so that’s fairly pointless. They could add those movement-triggered signs to tell you your speed, although some might take it as a challenge!
Probably the best solution is changing the greenway design in areas that need slowing – adding bends, staggered gates, bollards. Rather than telling people to slow down, you make it so they have to for their own sake.
Similar problem on a new greenway near a friends. I don’t even think it is a problem with the speed of cyclists, they are treating the place like they own the greenway. Am fully convinced that the same people will act the same way in a car or while walking. They don’t think or care about other people, some people are just assholes.
Maybe we install racing tracks to put these people in a separate location /s.
Good idea. I’ve seen similar in California – a roadside sign that tells you your speed like we see here as we enter some towns. There were signs beside saying max speed 15mph. Also plenty of signs saying pedestrians had right of way.
