Cuz smartschool doesn’t offer much for universities/highschools
Its only good for middelbaar or lower

Universities were and are generally way ahead in terms of digitalisation and have in-house expertise to operate similar or better platforms.
It makes little sense to replace those systems and workflows with a non-free SAAS that was built for high school and primary school and only in Belgium at that.

smartschool is focused on communication between the school and parents with some added learning modules as addon. Universities do not really need a communication to the parents tool and instead focus on things that work for their courses like blackboard (toledo for the KULeuven affiliates) or moodle. These are focused primarly on teaching, have more and better integrations with other software (like teams, GIS software, education databases etc), are internationally known (which is important for universities as they also have guest lecturers and international students), scale better, etc
