Ich habe über die Geographie des Kosovo gelesen und mir ist Folgendes aufgefallen: [map](https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/e/ea/Kosovo_ethnic_map_2011_census.GIF), in dem behauptet wurde, dass in einem am weitesten von Kroatien entfernten Gebiet offenbar die Mehrheit der Kroaten lebt. Ich fing an, hineinzuschauen und fand ein anderes [map](https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/f/ff/VitiaEthnic.png) etwas detaillierter. Ich habe es nachgeschlagen [google maps](https://www.google.nl/maps/@42.3017328,21.4767928,1929m/data=!3m1!1e3!5m1!1e4?entry=ttu) und es ist im Grunde ein Hügel mit ca [70](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Viti,_Kosovo#Demographics) Kroaten, die darauf leben. Also, was ist hier los? Wie ist das passiert? Sind das irgendwelche jugoslawischen Spielereien? Ist es eine osmanische Sache? Klokot mit serbischer Mehrheit ist nahe, sind es also vielleicht Serben, die katholisch wurden?

There was a long-distance trade that happened between Kosova and Republic of Ragusa (modern-day Dubrovnik) between 1500-1700s. Most of the Croatians in Kosova handled the trade. They are usually situated near mining towns, or ore trading towns.
They were the descendants of merchants, miners and craftsman from Dubrovnik that settlement there in the 14th century. Like in all countries such settlements were common for many reasons. There were many Albanian settlements in Croatia too. There are far fewer Croats in Kosovo since the nineties.
