The peoples with the most government paid-for and enforced cultural protections in Canada are English-Canadians, followed by French-Canadians and they’re, distantly, followed by Hutterite-Canadians.
Not sure why Albertans think separating and becoming a land-locked country, now surrounded on three sides by the country they just left, is going to help them. Or why some of them think becoming a state, just 1 of 50, is going to make them a priority.
I’d prefer we maintain one united Canada, without Indigenous rights. Everyone should be treated equally within one country, from coast to coast to coast. Giving special rights to people because of their bloodlines is unacceptable in the 21st century.
Canada is a great country. Race-based rights are wrong. These two things are both true at the same time.
