It’s a surface tension thing, right? The liquid clings to the underside of the spout instead of just dropping like a good liquid.

And the reason they leak is that they are tested with water not tea

I think you’re supposed to put a second cup under the teapot where the sout joins the pot. You fill two cups at once that way.

You’ll still need to mop up the rest of the tea that spills, but you might need to use less of the cafés napkins.

These teapots are made to leak. Designed by the lesser demon Gusion, a strong Great Duke of Hell, he is known to tell all past, present and future things, and otherwise spill the tea. The leaking results in frustration, anger, swearing and minor incidents which creates a trickle of low grade evil on a constant level which in energy terms would ironically be just about sufficient to boil a kettle.

    5. When they leaked, my mum used to open it, stick the handle of a teaspoon at the joint and close it to bend the back of the lid up a bit. Didn’t make them perfect but massively improved the dripping.

    6. Little bastards. Hell is probably full of these fuckers, ruining your cuppa for eternity.

You can get a silicon sleeve that runs over the spout and helps with drips 👍

My German Oma used to have a clip that helped break the surface tension so it didn’t spill as bad.

    8. Christ these things – I always picture them being designed in an R&D room somewhere years ago.. tea pissing out all over the place … „GOOD ENOUGH“ … but what boggles the mind, THEY’RE EVERYWHERE.. the most successful non-functional thing ever ‚designed‘ and sold

    9. I f@#king hate these things. Whoever invented them should be scalded to death
