I do wonder are there legal implications to Yates for all of this.

For example on multiple podcasts he was discussing odds (what’s a good price etc) of candidates and people may have been swayed by his input based on this assumption he was an impartial political journalist with no skin in the game. You’d take his advice very differently if you knew he was helping Gavin get elected.

Obviously then there’s the bigger issues with Cooper, RTE and Newstalk that could suffer reputation damage and loss of earnings as a result of this whole thing.

I assume Ivan is keeping quiet because of legal guidance but that’s only an assumption.

The sad thing about this is that I have no doubt in my mind whatsoever that down the line Ivan will be on the air, on TV, giving his political opinion on an upcoming election and guffawing with a wry smile *’oh I’m not training anybody this time’* and the other presenter will laugh it off as well.

That’s how the Irish media works, you are never cancelled in their eyes, you ‚*made mistakes*‘ and just have to lay low for a while before one of RTÉ/Bauer Media/Indo get you back and then the other one gives you a go as well.

This is so perfect. It’s such an encapsulation of the ruling class of Ireland. People might roll their eyes at that and think it’s more of a Brit thing but we absolutely have a set of people in this country, who mascaraed as being across the political spectrum but in reality they are one group.

They „run the country“.

We saw how quickly the walls came down between diametrically opposed FF and FG when the chips were down and the electorate rejected them individually. They have no real differences, so team up so they can continue to do the most important thing, „run the country“.

We see it in the hatchet pieces from the Indo and Times on the likes of Connolly, who exists outside the „run the country“ set. It doesn’t matter if it’s Gavin, Humphreys etc that they are backing, Connolly must be stopped to ensure they can continue to „run the country“.

And then Yates, formerly of FG, now paid to help FF win debates and also paid by the media establishment all to keep the status quo, their pally set needs to „run the country“.

What’s brilliant about it is that they are so shudderingly incompetent at it. Yates carefully crafted takedowns of CC gave her a 15% jump in the polls. He coached a debater who proceeded to malfunction on live television. then he got caught overplaying his hand because his sense of entitlement is so grand because he was born to „run the country“.

A reminder to reject anyone from the traditional FFG politcal spectrum, the Times/Indo sphere or any part of Montrose. they are a bumbling dimwitted pseudo-aristocracy. Don’t give them your money or your votes. Never mind your respect. They don’t deserve any of it.
