    1. Hopefully the invoices aren’t for companies with names like

      Kremlin Kleen & Service

      Kalash-na-Sea Services

Hilarious that the clowns demanding we have a „serious“ conversation about defense refuse to address the lack of personnel in all fields of the defense force.

From what I’ve read those private contractors are all…you guessed it… ex navy personnel.*

If you pay serving members peanuts this is what happens.

Sort out decent wages for these guys and then you wont need to spend double on private contractors.

      * and fair play to them by the way!

      Forced to?

US and British army often hire contractors to service weapons.its common enough practice.

Doesn’t change the issue that Irish people that want to join the military.

    5. It’s the government’s fault, sure other countries use 3rd parties to service weapons etc, but the government has kept the Defence Forces and Navy weak on purpose. The issue with recruitment and retention is linked to that and pay & benefits.
