Lots of towers going up but pipeline and actually being built aren’t the same.

I forget what silly name they call Manchester in these sort of articles, it’s also got Manhattan in it I think.

It’s really odd seeing Manchester now, there were 3 tall buildings built in the 60s and that was all there was until 2006.

Now there’s huge numbers of them and more being built.

The first 3 were all office blocks, all the recent ones are flats.

I’m not entirely sure why I’ve felt the need to write this 🙂

i hope they’re built in an orderly way at least. i know views aren’t the biggest concern but imo it looks like a mess from Greenwich looking towards canary wharf

No issue with this as long as there’s infrastructure there to support it. Parts of London are arguably at collapse points due to a lack of infrastructure be it sufficient road space, public transport, schools, hospitals etc. To drop this in in Inner London boroughs may be arguably reckless here. Perhaps try outer London Boroughs and stretch out beyond the M25?

Fix leasehold laws before it happens. Leaseholds are ridiculous.

Why don’t you fix the sewage draining into the rivers first?

  7. What about the predicted massive rise in sea levels due to climate catastrophe? Surely they will be submerged?

  8. So what’s in them? Apartments no one can afford (not that it matters, they’re ‘investments’ to be left empty and ‘grow in value’, not for actual living in) or offices no one needs?

And not a single one of those will be affordable housing. Ah, the good old ways of not caring for those that have to work for a living.

  10. Good. Build up as much as you like in London, it gets enough investment for infrastructure to cope and they aren’t building sideways more over green areas that way. Ashame that nothing they will build will be “affordable” though

You see those before-and-after photos of the London skyline. Never mind the 1970s, even since 2008 it’s utterly unrecognisable.

Can’t build a train from London to Manchester because NIMBY’s gridlock the process

Yeah, I wish we do this, but in my dreams

  13. London into Manhattan
Glasgow Edinburgh into Dallas Fort Worth
    Newquay into San Diageo
    Belfast into Portland
    Swansea into Orlando
    MK into Detroit

Where does this reverse colonialism end? Will Norwich become a nuclear testing ground casino hell hole?
