    1. Shame the young rarely vote. When they mature they rarely vote Green. Oh well.

Nice to have someone who isn’t on the right who is effective at marketing and social media finally. Feels like he knows the frustrations of his audience and are speaking to them where they hang out.

      Who knew this might work?

Still unable to win a single council by-election in October. Lib Dems won 16.

NATO, Nuclear, NIMBY and Immigration – all policy positions they have that are either damaging or dangerous.

Saying it in a populist voice doesn’t change the underlying reality.

    6. Brexit/Reform gained the popularity they have today by getting the disenfranchised back in to politics and voting for them. If the left/centre want similar popularity, they need to get the young out voting, not to mention politicians won’t give a shit about the young as a demographic until these become a voting cohort worthy of their attention. Imagine a party willing to give the young similar benefits to what the triple lock has done to pensioners

They you ask about NATO and nuclear weapons and it falls apart just like any other left wing party

Fascinating the number of commenters in here that are deeply critical of anything left wing and happen to have a “top 1% commenter” badge.

I suppose the benefit of this is that we won’t end up with 16 year olds gaining the ability to vote

    10. The UK is going down the route of American politics, populists on each side, the public counter polarising against the other side, and nothing practical being proposed. Making politics Green vs Reform will cement our decline.

Interesting times indeed. Although I can’t help feel that with a GE not for a while yet and likely leadership changes to Labour and Tory parties along the way, we will see the electorate snap back to the traditional 2 by the time we go to cast our ballot.

    12. Fantastic that young people are getting involved in politics and the direction of the country.

When he says the young, that means everyone under 50 according to some polls.

The Green Party in government will:

Implement a fair and humane system of managed immigration

Treat all migrants as if they are citizens

Give all residents the right to vote

      Help families to be together

      Dismantle the Home Office

Abolish the No Recourse to Public Funds condition

Abolish the ten year route to settlement

Stop the profiteering from application fees

Stop putting people in prison because of their immigration status

Accept our responsibility for the climate emergency and support the people forced to move

    15. Those famously high turnouts come election day. Need to drop the objections to nuclear power, nato and nuclear weapons. Very uni campus ideology in a world of unknowns around every corner

      https://migration.greenparty.org.uk/refugee-and-asylum-policy/

The Green Party’s official position includes things like wanting a hard minimum of 10,000 accepted asylum seekers per year, that a rejected asylum seeker should be treated as an ordinary migrant, that normal migrants should have access to public funds, etc.

The top line is that they want a world with fully uncontrolled immigration (not immediately, but over time).

This alone without any of the other mental stuff would just blow up the country.

Reform might be nasty and mean and a bit clueless, these guys are actively malicious, it’s like if a competing country set up a policy to do us over.
