    1. > When asked if he would write his NYT op-ed again if given the chance, Clooney replied, “Yes. We had a chance. I wanted there to be, as I wrote in the op-ed, a primary. Let’s battle-test this quickly and get it up and going. I think the mistake with it being Kamala is she had to run against her own record. It’s very hard to do if the point of running is to say, ‘I’m not that person.’ It’s hard to do, and so she was given a very tough task. I think it was a mistake, quite honestly. But we are where we are. We were gonna lose more House seats, they say. So I don’t know. To not do it would be to say, ‘I’m not gonna tell the truth.’”

The mistake was him trying to run at all! Had we had a proper primary maybe we would have gotten a candidate that could have actually captured the moment. Not one that was forced to figure it out with half the time! All while trying not to step on Old Joe’s shoes.

He can’t have it both ways. Either he was wrong to call on Biden to drop out, or he was right and the obvious replacement on the ticket was Harris. There was simply no time for a primary at that late of a date.

Seems a bit hypocritical don’t you think? I really wish he would stay quiet, be thankful that he’s rich and didn’t have his food supply abruptly cut off and just move on and deal with his guilt in silence.

George Clooney can’t give me any political advice nor do I care what the fuck he has to say about the election he’s rich, white man and won’t be affected by any of the shit that’s going on!

S T F U Clooney. You and your ilk demanded Biden not run. We don’t want to hear it. You fkn amateur. You’re just like all rich people, just because you are famous and have money you have inject yourself and your pie hole into every situation that is way beyond your skill set. Sit down and shut up.

    7. underthehillock on

Shut up, George. Once Biden was forced out, there was no other option. We were fucked either way.

    8. stonewall_jacked on

Maybe we should stop letting celebrities choose our leaders, I dunno.

    9. Confident-Grape-8872 on

Harris wasn’t exactly set up for success. She did the best she could with what she had. Biden fucked us by even running in the first place. Any other democrat candidate would’ve won. Biden is just another political asshole that had too much hubris to get out of our way

Why is this the season for eating crow after the previous year they were riding hard for their guy/gal? When even then EVERYONE said it was a mistake

Stop listening to anything celebrities have to say and start listening to scientists, lawyers, doctors, and engineers. You know, people who are actually qualified to do the job, give the facts. So many stupid people here listening to every single thing celebrities and even nobody influencers have to say, instead of experts.

    12. Maybe I got the read wrong, but everyone that was pushing Biden to drop out wanted someone that wasn’t associated with the current administration. Biden eventually got tired, and as a fuck you to everyone pushing, he put Kamala in as the candidate.

Hence where this is coming from, Clooney wanted Biden out, but he didn’t want Kamala, and much less this close to the election.

    13. Critically32 on

Really over Clooney talking incessantly about how wrong we are. Way to bat for your own team.

    14. Jumpy_Plantain2887 on

Why do we give a fuck about an actor who lives in Italy who only comes to America every so often to basically run his fucking mouth. He needs to keep his ass on Lake Como and not mess with politics here in America.

    15. I honestly thought Biden would step down after serving 25 months of his term

    16. Radiant-Pain-2160 on

Yeah, thanks for all your help, George. Now please go fuck off to your mansion.

    17. They had 2 options, and somehow chose a third one that was worse than both. I don’t think Biden would’ve won either, but it might not have been such a runaway victory where republicans have a majority everywhere

People are still playing the blame game, when in reality democrats didn’t play their cards right in the run up to the election cycle.

Republicans spent years and decades on building their conservative (social) media ecosystem. It’s their secret weapon, that amplifies all their talking points and manufactures concent among their voter base, when they pivot. It also helps create noise and dilute democrat talking points.

This presidential election has shown that many things Kamala actually said, hasn’t reached many voters. Many people already had preconceived opinions about her as a person, her political stances and her track record, that didn’t match reality. Same with Joe Biden. The quality of Kamala’s campaign didn’t have much impact if we look at it this way.

So discussing strategy and timings on the Democrat side doesn’t take into account the full picture.

If democrats want to stand a realistic chance, they need to fight to conservative media landscape or come up with a communication strategy so good, it manages to pierce through it.

This means they need to spend their money differently and build infrastructure in between election cycles…

    19. The choice between her and the other guy was *so easy* and still so many failed the test.

    20. She was polling in the single digits when she dropped out in 2020, they should’ve had some sort of expedited primary.

    21. CherryPiePicker on

George Clooney stated shortly after the first presidential debate for Biden not to run for reelection. He can’t have it both ways.

    22. Cherry_Springer_ on

It sure as shit was not. Democrats would’ve gotten their ass handed to them down ballot without the increased Democratic enthusiasm/slight increase in Independent support that Harris injected into the race.

Here’s the thing. I don’t like how it happened but there was no way I would cast a vote for drumpf no matter who was against him.
