Witness protection makes people invisible!?

Interesting story. Now I have something to talk to my new workmate Donathan Jowdall at the water cooler tomorrow.
Social media and online news must make Witness Protection much harder to implement. Cosmetic surgery would be the only safe way to do it.
Presumably abroad, he’d be recognised eventually walking down the street of any town in Ireland.

I’d love to know the long-term logistics of witness protection. He got to keep the sale of his house, and WP offers a life that he is accustomed to. Wonder what job he’ll walk into.

A few years ago before he ever got media attention, he had parked his van outside my sister’s house blocking their car in the driveway. My brother in law asked him to move the van and he went nuts and threatened my BIL. BIL went to the guards with the van reg and all they said was something like „We know about him“

Surely witness protection in Ireland means leaving the country? People are quite easy to find.
I’m surprised that Ireland has a witness protection program. I assumed it would never work here.
