GB News reporter Jack Hadfield tweeting about this:
>Staff members from LNER are telling commuters stuck on the line now that 10 people have been stabbed on a train, according to my sources.
>Allegedly, most of the current victims are members of train staff.
>We can’t live like this!
>My sources are now telling me that one staff member is in critical condition, as two people have been arrested by police following the incident
The reports I’m seeing on X from various journalists and reporters are of at least 10 people stabbed, and at least one person in a critical condition. The number seems to be quite consistent among them
>DEVELOPING: The train stabbing incident at Huntingdon:
>- Took place on an LNER train from Doncaster to London Kings Cross
>- The attack is believed to have started a few minutes after the train left Peterborough at 19:30
>- Witnesses reported a man armed with a large knife and passengers hid in toilets to escape
>- Police were called at 19:39, and the East of England Ambulance Service launched a „large-scale response“ involving air ambulances, tactical commanders, the Hazardous Area Response Team and a critical care team
>- The train made an emergency stop at Huntingdon at 19:44
>- Armed police arrested two men and several people were taken to hospital
>- PM Keir Starmer says the stabbing is „appalling“ and „deeply concerning“
>- Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood urges people to „avoid comment and speculation at this early stage“
>- LNER is urging passengers not to travel, saying there is major disruption across the East Coast Mainline. All lines are currently blocked at Huntingdon

This news is terrible, multiple people stabbed on a train, at least 30 armed police in attendance. It feels all too familiar with the terrorist attacks we’ve experienced in the past decades.
My thoughts are with the victims and their families.

From the article as it is currently:
>Two people have been arrested after „multiple people“ were stabbed on a train.
>British Transport Police are currently responding to the incident on an LNER train to Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire.
>Armed officers attended the scene and two men were arrested following 999 calls at 19.39 GMT.
>More than 30 officers were sent to the scene. No details about how many people have been stabbed have been released, or how serious the injuries are.
So maybe we should wait for an actual police statement…

I cannot imagine the panic on that train it must have been awful.

Crazy times were living in. You’ve got social media where disinfo is absolutely rife yet there’s no trust in the police to tell us if this is what many suspect.

Can’t wait for „well they had mental problems, can’t do anything about it, there’s always crazy people“
And we just move on like it never happened, until the next time it happens in a could of months.
