Honestly, who else would the CPC go with? There is no one really waiting in the wings. I think he’ll survive the leadership review just because there is no other viable candidate.
He will because at the core of conservatism, they want more of the same old, same old. Pathetic and out of touch.

Yeah I’m also confident the controlled opposition CPC will keep him. He’s the perfect blend of progressive cowardice and surface level conservative appeal to keep the country politically paralyzed. Make no mistake, liberals of reddit love that he’s leader, despite crying about him 24/7.
I agree that PP will probably live to fight another day. It will be interesting to see the magnitude of his support. If he gets less than two thirds will he be relegated to lame duck leader status a la Joe Clark ca. 1981-83, still leader but only on sufferance due to lack of a better alternative?
The only way for PP to succeed is for Carney to fail.
If conservatives cant see this then they deserve what they get.
If conservatives cant learn any lessons from an election where they managed to blow a 30 point lead then they deserve what they get.

By keeping Poilievre, the CPC ensures that it will not lead Canada in the foreseeable future.
Carney arrived and was able to close a 20-30 points gap in no time. Even with a minority government (a strong one close to a majority), there are MANY Conservatives who appreciate Carney’s leadership. Remove all the moderate Conservatives from the equation and there’s not much left.
Many people voted for the Conservatives because they were tired of Trudeau’s Liberals. It is quite clear now that Carney’s Liberals is anything but, and more aligned with many moderate Conservatives.
Poilievre will be the downfall of the CPC.
Poilievre is the best thing that has happened to Carney, I hope that Poilievre gets just enough support for the party to remain saddled with him.
