Could this be partially due to the complexity of Finnish taxes?

How interesting, it’s the same phenomenon in Denmark.
(though probably not the chinese restaurants, as far as i’ve read. but certainly kebab and pizza places – and „bazaars“.

Right. What even is the point of saying this? It’s actually just snitching on yourself.
“Man, I guess I lost my cookie.” “I definitely didn’t steal it.” “What?”

In these fun cultures following the rules is seen as idiotic, as a weakness, especially if they are not enforced constantly.

Few years ago there was a pizza restaurant in Helsinki, which sold huge delicious pizzas for 4,90 euros. A glass of soft drink was free. I liked the place, visited there often, but I had a suspicion that not ALL taxes were paid.

You won’t get cheap takeout, if they are paying all their taxes.

What the hell? Are you saying that the 6€ pizza didn’t include all the taxes. I’ll be damned.

How are they avoiding the taxes? How to they hide the revenue, doesn’t everyone pay with card or contactless now? Who buys pizza with cash anymore?
