Either way the USA will be finished.

Independent here. The dems better quit the infighting and get behind the popular candidates in each state. If Mamdani in NY and Platner in Maine are the popular choice then get behind them! Keep in mind that what’s considered left here is centrist in most progressive countries.

SCOTUS is clearly a bad joke which has the power to widen Trump’s powers and may decide to do so.
How will they be stopped ? A Democratic Party majority is the best that can be hoped for at the midterms. A docile Senate protects Trump and he continues on. How can they be stopped ?
Years more of this to come and it appears that none of it will be good for the likes of you and me.

Stop propping up all these old raggedy ass Dems who not only put us here by thinking ALL of us were overacting about Trump and impending totalitarianism, patting us on the head and telling us smarter people than us had it covered, but who now keep us here with hubris and inaction and NO PLAN FORWARD.

We’ve been SMDH for a decade watching Dem snobs riding intellectual high horses tell us lies and take money from the big donors while our elections are undermined and the deeply unpopular GOP somehow wins every swing state.
Seriously, where is the moral backbone on the ground? Courting big donors? For what? Staff salaries? Where are these hundreds of millions of dollars going?
The Dem establishment gate keeping strategy worked. It’s about raising money for Dems to pay operatives and staff and who TF cares if they win? Guess what? This strategy is failing us as Americans.
Dinner parties and high-minded ideas of rich people are simply not where Dems should be getting strategy for governance or Dem policy. It’s bonkers.

Does this sound like a familiar ‚rule breaking‘ pattern, a convenient set-up for a 4th vote from a DINO, happily appointed by Reagan? 40‐years of right-wing propaganda and the gutting of American manufacturing jobs have significantly helped to change the US political landscape.
Remember: all the people who love Trump don’t just disappear when Trump dies.
Unless there’s a massive culture shift among American conservatives, the next fascist is right around the corner, and they probably won’t be as incompetent as Trump is.
Trump is the exact endgame that George Washington was worried about in his farewell address regarding bipartisanship. He was worried if the govt was reduced to 2 opposing parties that gridlock and tribalism would prevent the govt from functioning properly. There are so many checks and balances and consequences for what Trump does, but they only work if the other govt branches are willing to use them, and the antagonistic nature of current politics means Republicans NEVER will hit the brakes on him.
He’s not building that ballroom for the next person.
The crazy part is. The rights wing nut jobs who love their guns cuz the „government can’t take over“ are the ones all for trump being a dictator.
