Sure, of course they wouldn’t. Nudge, nudge, wink, wink…

Poilievre will say whatever it takes to keep his polling high. He is hoping to coast to victory in a year.

No of course not, the cabinet and government wouldn’t introduce legislation themselves.

But if a private member bill with the clause was introduced and PP granted a free vote like he said he would on the issue…

Anyone else see those red flags?

The people that helped launch him to the leadership want their wishes done on abortion and they are only getting louder.

He is riding high and they will come knocking to use some of that political capital on them when he’s in power.

He WILL do something that will be one of those “not about abortion, but totally is” legislation for sure during his time in office at minimum once to appease them and appease his own anti choice caucus. The fall of Roe v Wade down south has opened that pandora’s box even up here and those people are emboldened and cannot be as easily ignored as before.

The only way to prevent the inevitable attempts and chipping away slowly will be Pierre with a minority or not winning at all.

  4. The tinfoil hat game in these comments is very strong. You’d think a CPC leader saying no to abortion would be cause for celebration, but apparently it is just one part of a far bigger, far more nefarious plot. Makes sense!

I believe that. It’d be political suicide. If they did it even with a majority it’d guarantee his defeat at the next election.

Straight up: I don’t believe them. The Conservatives and particularly PP are not at all trustworthy. There is a large base of support for reducing abortion rights in the Conservative party. At some point they’ll get real loud about it and the Conservatives will likely cave to them. Just my opinion.
