Good. Fascist Republican efforts to make it harder to vote should be rejected whenever possible.

Trump’s whole „transparency“ shtick was straight-up BS, imo

Pardom my ignorance, but is it still possible that Scotus will overturn it in appeals?

Proof of citizenship laws sound reasonable until you realize how many legal voters don’t have easy access to those documents.

Republicans have been steadily suppressing the vote for years, but what really helped accelerate this effort was January 6th and Trump’s ‚big lie“ of a stolen election.
The GOP has basically seized the opportunity to sow more seeds of distrust in our elections, piggybacking off of Trump’s lies of election fraud and all the conspiracy theories that followed to lead a nationwide effort that disenfranchises more Americans, suppresses the vote, gives Republicans more legal authority to challenge the results of elections while ultimately granting them more power, control and supervision over our election system.
To make matters worse, Trump has been federalizing the military and local law enforcement in order to centralized authoritarian control over US cities in urban areas, a military presence he will undoubtedly use to suppress the vote in the future.
On top of all of this, Republicans are currently seeking to remap their political power and dilute the minority vote by challenging section 2 of the voting Rights Act.
And they have the audacity to claim that they’re „protecting the integrity of our elections,“ when they’re taking all kinds of legislative actions to subvert the vote and influence the outcome of elections.

We already prove our citizenship when we register in our States FFS.

Can someone explain this a bit more? Typical only American citizens can vote so why isn’t this the normal?
