NGL, I’m actually scared for her. I feel like the admin, er, who the fuck am I kidding — the regime would prefer the optics of him being with a blonde Christian who is newly single, rather than an Indian immigrant. I hope she’s able to get away safe, and that they don’t plan some „accident“ to befall her

    2. Jolly-Star-9897 on

When he says that he hopes that she converts (because, he says, that’s what all partners in interfaith relationships want), someone should ask him if she hopes that he converts.

    3. She’s being moved aside so he can mate with Erkkka Kirk and run for eternal POTUS as a white power couple.

    4. > I hope eventually that she [Usha] is somehow moved by the same thing that I was moved in by church

I am confused. Does he mean the couch that he fucked, the bigotry, or the easy marks?

      > The vice president told the guest that while his wife grew up in a Hindu family, it was “not a particularly religious one” and that they would have both considered themselves agnostic or atheist when they first met.

A Christian for the purposes of political ambition.

Where is the polymarket/kalshi for their upcoming divorce and the marriage of Erika Kirk and JD Vance.

    7. East-Will1345 on

I cannot believe I am witnessing what appears to be a deliberate effort to run a sitting VP’s wife out of town so he can be better situated to run for the presidency. That is some wild shit.

As a Catholic, may I just say I don’t think the (converted) JD Vance is Catholic or Christian. And, while I am repudiating converted Catholics, throw in Peter Thiel as well.

    9. Slight-Rate7309 on

Anybody know the context for his comment? Was he asked about his mixed-faith marriage or did he just offer this up unprompted?

    10. PartyClient3447 on

A true evangelical Christian would not have ever married a heathen in the first place. I’m sure God wants jd to dump her for Kirk.

    11. Vance is an effing fool. Nothing is sacred. He did not defend his wife. That is worrisome.

The rising number of „religiously unaffiliated“ persons over the years is a direct response to the hypocrisy and corruption of the Church, as well as the religious fundamentalism of „Christian“ conservatives and nationalists whose level of cognitive dissonance compares to no other.

The leaders they choose to rally around and nearly everything they stand for directly contradicts the teachings of Jesus Christ.

These supposed Christians are inherently un-Christian in almost every way.

For instance, they prioritize power over principles; aligning themselves with political figures and ideologies that contradict Jesus‘ teachings of meekness and service.

They also treat the poor and marginalized like vermin, showing little to no compassion towards the most vulnerable among us—even going so far as to alienate these groups of people.

They preach bigotry, xenophobia, disdain towards outsiders, foreigners and strangers.

Christian nationalists in positions of power merge their political beliefs together with their religious doctrine and set out to advance policies that worsen systemic inequalities and injustices. Policies that take from the poor to give to the rich, that devalue diversity, discriminate against out-groups and exploit the underprivileged.

They scapegoat marginalized communities of people, stigmatize immigrants and refugees, and promote racial, ethnic, social, and cultural hierarchy.

They oppose social welfare and safety nets for the poor and underserved. They protest the expansion of healthcare. They refuse to allow opportunities for the needy and disadvantaged.

With all of this in mind, remember that Jesus persistently advocated for the indigent, the outcasts, the foreigner, the paupers, the sick.

Conservative „Christians“ seem to favor punishment over forgiveness. They openly support the government’s weaponization of the justice system for the purpose of political vengeance.

They endorse the militarization of domestic policy and the federalization of the military and local law enforcement as a means of suppression.

Their „law and order“ rhetoric is riddled with dog whistles meant to incite hostilities towards minorities, immigrants and marginalized groups.

Their harsh stances on criminal justice and capital punishment, and their disregard for due process and rights for immigrants and outsiders contradict messages of tolerance, forgiveness, love, redemption, compassion.

Their morality is selective. They overlook the ethical and moral failings of their own; ignoring concerns about corruption, greed, scandal, profligacy and lawlessness among those in power. They turn a blind eye towards the root causes of environmental degradation, socioeconomic disparities and systemic inequalities in favor of blaming these problems on their political, religious, and ideological foes.

Instead of acknowledging these deep-seated issues and their causes, they choose to focus their energy on vilifying groups of people that exist outside of a white, Christian hegemony and those who don’t adhere to their strict, heteronormative „values“ and „traditions.“

Their unflinching support for Donald Trump takes the form of idol worship, and they devote themselves to a petulant, vainglorious man who represents the antithesis of Christianity and its most basic principles.

Trump has lived a life of fraud and adultery. He is a conman, an extortionist and a cheater in more ways than one. He has been implicated in countless crimes and corruption scandals. He obstructs and evades justice at every opportunity. He has a long, perverse history of sexual abuse. He is a petty and vindictive man.

He is a demagogue who indulges his follower’s fears and their outrage. He taunts and belittles his political opponents. He is extremely vain and obsessed with his image and ratings. He relies on the use of inflammatory speech and divisive rhetoric to incite violence, radicalize his supporters, and inspire hatred towards his enemies.

Donald Trump is the portrait of the anti-christ.

He’s also a pathological liar and narcissist—a self-serving hypocrite and greed-monger who has monetized the presidency to the tune of billions.

He embodies the opposite of humility, honesty, fidelity, compassion, austerity.

As a group, Trump and his followers defy the very idea of „love your enemies“ and „turn the other cheek.“

They dedicate their efforts towards making enemies of others, enemies they despise with every fiber of their being. Their identity is founded on hate, righteous anger, mockery, antagonism, entitlement, superiority, etc…

Truth is central to Christian ethics, but Donald Trump and his supporters are documented liars—they have no commitment to the truth. They lack wits and treat the truth like it’s subjective.

Trump’s followers implicitly trust the words of a crowd pleaser and false idol and they promote dishonest narratives, myths, rumors and conspiracy theories.

Trump brings out the worst in his supporters by holding a mirror up to them; pandering to them and entertaining their fears; appealing to their frustrations and the lowest common denominator of feelings.

They fuse their Christian identity and ethos with American nationalism. This is idolatrous and undemocratic.

They distort scripture and misinterpret and cherry pick the gospel however they see fit to justify their intolerance of others. Christian Nationalism is a blight on this country; it is vile and impious.

Jesus turned the tables on the Donald Trump’s of the world, but they welcome these rich, corrupt kleptocrats and modern day money changers with open arms.

Their party’s platform is inextricably linked with their religious dogma. A party that largely appeals to white supremacists, neo-nazis, hate groups, religious extremists and their many grievances.

They are a living, breathing contradiction. They epitomize everything a Christian ought not to be.

If Vance wants to fit in with the rest of the Trump admin he should have at least one divorce under his belt.

    14. Orwells_Roses on

I feel really sorry for their kids.

Imagine realizing that your dad is so racist he wants to trade in his brown wife for a white one, while you still carry half of her genes.

      Villain origin story incoming.

    15. idliketodienowthx on

He is setting this up so he has an excuse why he left her for gums tiny teeth kirks wife.

    16. rainydaynola on

I’d be pretty scared if I was her. If he divorced her it would make him look really bad so he’d have to find another way to get rid of her. Like an unfortunate fall down the stairs.

    17. rapidcreek409 on

JV, show where Jesus spoke of screwing over the poor. You don’t believe in shit other than power and money.

    18. NewWindow7980 on

I could almost understand it if I for one minute believed he was sincere about his faith (or anything for that matter). But the impression he leaves is that his „faith“ is just another shape-changing gimmick.

    19. his wife looks utterly miserable in this picture. i’d almost feel sorry for her if she wasn’t an accomplice to all this horse shit

    20. Usha married way below her intelligence.
She should file for divorce and take the kids with her. I can only imagine how toxic that home is on a daily basis.

    21. What exactly is supposed to move people about christian faith these days? Kidnapping people on the streets? Blowing up fishing boats? Denying food stamps to the poor? What exactly about the Christians who run our government is a ringing endorsement for christianity?

    22. we_are_sex_bobomb on

I feel like what he’s doing here is setting up his inevitable divorce so that it’s got a watertight Christian justification.

He knows he can’t be the president of the Nazi party with a brown skinned wife.

    23. aquestionofbalance on

JD Vance, calling himself a Christian his hysterical. He doesn’t know the meaning.

    24. Real father of the year material. The MAGA crowd can really pick the winners.

    25. Have you ever been in a relationship where it’s abundantly clear the other person wants to break up with you, but they don’t have the balls to say it so they’ll just make you continually miserable until you break up with them?

You know: like an abuser would do?

It’s not even subtle. It would only be more obvious if he did public events with a checklist of how he’s wrecking his marriage for a chance with Charlie’s gold digger.

    26. Y’all are wrong about how this will play out. Once the supreme court overturns gay marriage, next is interracial marriage. Obviously as a God fearing and law abiding citizen, once they ban interracial marriage, JD will be “forced” to divorce her. Once that happens, within 6 months, I guarantee you he marries Kirk.

    27. He’s lining up to bid for 2028 , he knows he can’t win with her at his side . And if he is tapping thr kirk chick brings all the maga nuts

    28. mistertickertape on

There’s some real weird energy going on between Vance and Erika Kirk. Almost like he’s getting ready to drop his wife and kids for Erika Kirk which is the most Christian, Republican thing both of them could possibly do considering it has been, oh, less than 8 weeks.

    29. Prediction – He divorces his wife, marries Kirk’s widow, runs for President, elections get rigged (no one is voting for Vance by will) with DJT as VP and then he resigns or gets Kirked. Welcome to the 2028 3rd term of nutbag.
