    1. **From The Associated Press:**

Israel’s top military prosecutor resigned Friday, admitting she was responsible for leaking a video showing soldiers assaulting a Palestinian detainee at a notorious military detention center, according to excerpts of the letter published by Israeli media.

The admission has embroiled the prosecutor, Military Advocate General Maj. Gen. Yifat Tomer-Yerushalmi, in a firestorm of criticism from the right-wingers dominating Israeli politics who say her actions betrayed the state.

So let’s focus on punishing her instead? Does
      Israel have whistleblower laws?

It was an altered video that she released to take the heat off of her office instead of focusing on the actual innocence or guilt of the servicemen involved.

“Israel’s military was investigating the case at the time and had arrested soldiers for suspected involvement, prompting fury from hard-line ultranationalists who violently overran the facility in protest.”

“Throughout the war, Israel’s treatment of Palestinian detainees from Gaza — especially at the Sde Teiman facility where the incident took place — has been characterized by rights groups as abusive. Detainees have been rounded up en masse and brought to detention facilities where they could be held for months without charge or trial. Many released detainees have reported frequent beatings from prison guards, scant food and awful conditions.”

    5. I dunno, I think she did right. Regardless of your view there’s two indisputable facts: 1) A detainee ended up in the hospital with injuries he did not have before ended up in the prison and 2) There’s a highly questionable scene of prison guards blocking the view of a security cam for alleged abuse. Even if they were just having fun and not abusing a prisoner, it’s a terrible look that still leaves the question of how the prisoner got his injuries in prison. Deserves calmer heads getting to the bottom of the matter and the Righties once again not realizing their outrageous reactions and statements have made it worse.

One of the crazy things from doubleclicking is that it looks like the video was two scenes/two days sliced together. The video we saw in the West, didn’t really happen. Part of the court case is understanding did she know the video was a fake and she did it to damage the current admin OR did she NOT know it was a fake and she thought, like you, that she was doing her „citizenship“ duty. Once you see the „slice“ you can’t really unsee it, but I 100% didn’t see it because I just thought it was „fuzzy“ security camera.

    7. a bunch of dickhead prison guards took advantage of the tragedy of october 7th and used it to supposedly sexually abuse prisoners arrested for participation in the massacre. it was going to be covered up with a slap of the wrist (iirc at worst firing the culprits), but the top prosecutor leaked the video to prevent the cover-up.

most militaries around the world cover up atrocities their soldiers do, because it makes their army look bad. the difference here is that several ministers in the government went on crusades justifying the culprits, denying the crimes while praising them at the same time, demanding they be released immediately and instigating riots at their detention facilities. it is no wonder the prosecutor was pushed to taboo conduct, especially considering she probably didn’t want to smear the idf any more than most officials. the problem in her conduct is she lied about it, otherwise fair play.

So they’re ‚Hamas‘ when they do something bad, but ‚Palestinian‘ when they’re the victim? Make the grift make sense.
